It is important all babies have the best possible start in life. The health visiting team help support all families in these first critical years.

• A health visitor is a qualified nurse or midwife with post-registration experience who has undertaken further training and education in child health, health promotion, public health and education.
• A nursery nurse has relevant child care qualifications and training, to assess development and support children play and learn.
• A family support worker has a child care qualification, and additional training to support families and children in family support and nutrition.
