We are thrilled to win another award for our passenger experience! 🏆
Research has been published today by Saga who surveyed more than 9,500 of their members and revealed that 89% opt for a regional departure over a major international airport, and they do so because they live closer to the airport.
For the over 50s, ease and convenience of travelling locally were the main reasons, with 53% of the respondents revealing they would change airline to fly from their preferred regi...onal airport, whilst a similar proportion said they would be willing to pay marginally more to fly locally.
DSA came top in nearly every category, scoring particularly high in check-in queues, security queue, baggage queue and cost of parking. It was the only airport to secure above eight out of ten on any category, 0.5 point ahead of any other airport in the UK.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport to Belfast City Airport – the route that just keeps on giving! 😊🛫
We donated one of our first flight cakes to Redlands Primary and Nursery School for year 6 students to enjoy. Given as a treat for continued hard work after their SAT’s.👏
The head teacher Mr Walker said “the cake was delicious and enjoyed by all, and thank you to Doncaster Sheffield Airport for the donation”. 🍰

What a relaxed place to fly from, no hassle, staff who actually smile and chat, it's a breath of fresh air with a small dose of aviation exhaust. Brilliant!

We travelled with my son who has autism. Usually travelling is awful. He is quiet and outwardly coping but gets so anxious he becomes ill. Dave Evans gave him a wristband and saw us through customs (the worst bit for my son) and right through to the aircraft with no crowds and no stress. All the staff were great. It made a huge difference to the start of our holiday. Thank you!

Outstanding service received from all staff today. We needed assistance due to wheelchair use and at every point the service could not have been better. Thank you all for making the journey as easy and painfree as it could be !

It's easy to get to with the new road, the parking was easy with polite staff. no hassle checking in we were 1.5kl over but no charge, if the airlines were cheaper it would be great all around, a few shops and bars, smoking area, VIP lounge is very calm and great on Christmas day paid for it for a gift to my mum she loved it. what more can you ask for.. Oh hour's of stressed queueing going through departure with staff that don't want to say good morning never mind smile , long drives and possible traffic jams like Manchester and Heathrow airports.

How can you not love �DSA airport fantastic staff Swiss port ) and all other staff it’s like a home from home will always fly from DSA zig the destination os available. .... try u will never go back fabulous

Fantastic airport,10 minutes from home. Clean, staff great, wouldn't travel from anywhere else unless going somewhere that Doncaster doesn't fly to. Premium Lounge great too.

It's a great airport but think they need to do more to attract business travel. FlyBe are stopping their early morning flight to Paris on Monday for the winter and there are no late Paris flights back on Thursday. These flights are very busy out of Manchester and also very expensive. Surely there is room for another flight out of Doncaster for this market.

Small..... compact... easy to get to!

Screen information was not kept up to date. Our flight was delayed but the screens didn’t show this. Had to visit Flybe website for an update. �

Not travelled as yet, can anyone advise me on which parking to use which is reasonably priced and close. Much appreciated.

Small airport that could be ok but there are some real niggles!

1. No charging points - they actually lock them �. You can charge a phone at £1 for 15 mins... Sorry if you have another device like a laptop etc!

2. Toilet cubicles are the smallest possible size - fabulous for an airport where people have bags and coats!

3. Airport parking is outrageous expensive even prebooked - £35 per day!

4. Limited public transport to this remote country airport

5. So noisy in the airport don’t think about trying to work....

Doncaster airport is a joke. 1 hour since we got off the plane and only just stepped into the terminal. We now have a long queue through passport control. When I asked a member of staff about the delay I was told it’s the same every Monday and Friday!!!! Shocking !!!

Terrible customer service , very unhelpful , they say they are under staffed! really not a nice start to our family holiday.

Terrible attitudes with your customs department,tearing our suitcases to pieces and just throwing the clothes all over to try find fags/booze/whatever else,would expect that kind of untidy scruffy action from a 5 year old child and the way the try talk down to people is disgraceful disgusting and very uncalled for! Will never fly from the "friendly airport" again! When asked why they singled me and my 70 year old I'll mother out the reply was "it's because you are with another gentleman who we want to search" well that assumption was very wrong and they had no right to assume as such! And one more thing is take a Look at the policy for bringing cigarettes and tobacco and bring your staff up to date with it,there is no limit from eu countries(as long as it's for personal use),and yes you can bring back gifts(which I did of 2 sleeves of cigs for my niece and nephew) only to be told that I couldn't have them through coz she said that they wasn't a gift and that they was "payment" to them for looking after my old ill boxer dog!

Be pulled to one side is fine and it's a job that's got to be done to curb people making money out of selling duty free goods but to have an officer make assumptions about the goods I brought in was disgusting and to assume that we was linked to another bloke they stopped and searched was just presumptuous nonsense! I would of argued black and blue about the 400 cigs i got took off me but for the sake of my mum who is desperately ill i let it slide!

Disgraceful

Such a disappointment. When we got off the plane there were so many arrivals at the same time that i had to stand in a queue with a 3 month baby for about an hour. I did ask if we could get through quicker because he was crying but was told no. After we went through all the luggage was thrown on the floor i had to dig in to find my push chair as it was underneath about 30 suitcases.. my suitcase was no where to be found as it all looked like a massive garbage dump and had to ask someone to help me find it. If that wasn't embarrassing enough for swissport i found that my suitcase was broken!! I have taken photographs of it all and will be taking it further. Was the worse experience i have ever had at an airport.

My wife arranged special assistance when flying from DSA yesterday to Newquay. When she got to the airport, she was given a wheelchair which they asked us to push ourselves (not easy with a 3 year old) and they would meet her at the gate. When she got there they told her there was no ambulift (even though we had got confirmation there was one being provided), because "they" (whoever "they" are) had been taken over and the old company had not left them an ambulift for them to use! What nonsense. This caused her great distress in getting on to the aircraft and left her in considerable discomfort during the flight and indeed during the evening and again today. Not the best start to the holiday.

It takes 2hours and 30 mins to get from Riga and one hour and 30 mins to get through Doncaster airport passport control.



And they wonder why people don’t use Doncaster Sheffield airport- it’s a disgrace- hundreds of people stood outside in the cold whilst only 3 desks were open - no self serve biometrics.



I could have used Manchester and got Home in the time I stood outside .



Or - perhaps I could have done what some of the Europeans did - say I have a taxi waiting- to they let them straight through- from the back of the queue.



Then guess what 7 of them piled into a small car outside- some of them in a car boot! Nobody taking any notice!

I use DSA because I have to- Flybe allow minors to travel unaccompanied and my boys go to their Mums in Holland during holidays.

Without fail, they spend longer queuing at your immigration / arrivals than they do either at Schipol or actually flying.

4 flights arriving within 20 mins of each other on a Saturday night is arrivals chaos.

Your staff couldn’t care less, my parking is £££ and when I get 2 tired and hungry teenagers into the terminal, there’s nowhere to eat. LBA or EMA much better in all regards.
