Doncaster Ukulele Group Description

Doncaster Ukulele Group formed in October 2015 with the intention of creating a fun environment for like-minded individuals to come to learn and play ukulele together, all whilst raising funds to support the music education of youngsters in the Doncaster region. Since our inception we’ve welcomed over 100 people to the group and donated well in excess of £10, 000 to charity.

We have members young and old, from all backgrounds and of all standards from total beginner to professional musicians – they all have one thing in common - the love of playing the ukulele!

Anybody wishing to join us can expect to find a welcoming, supportive and pressure-free environment to learn and play the ukulele in. Alongside our regular sessions, we also put on events such as social evenings out, jams with other ukulele groups, and – new for our 2019 /2020 season – special guest workshops with visiting ukulele professionals.

We also offer our members the opportunity to perform at a variety of events throughout the year. To date, we’ve played many of our local village fetes / carnivals and Churches, we’ve appeared at music and Steampunk festivals, we’ve graced the main stage of our local 400-capacity CAST Theatre and been lucky enough to host an amazing day of jamming with the wonderfully talented George Hinchliffe of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.
