Doodlepeople - Feminist Accessories Description

Alyce Brown is an artist living in the north of the UK. Her work is feminist and political in nature and comes mostly in the form of wearable art (pins, patches, clothing, jewellery and other accessories) to aid you on your daily grind against street harassment, rape culture, everyday sexism and plums who think that women have to be clean shaven and skinny to be attractive and thus "worthy".

Proud and honoured creator of the Torso of the Week project, empowering wonderful people since December 2016 (please do get in contact if you'd like to participate - all sexes and genders welcome).

Happy to take custom orders; ships anywhere Royal Mail will let me!

Wahey!
[Image description: a screenshot of my Doodlepeople Etsy front page. I have 14000 sales (the milestone being "wahey"ed!) and 2345 reviews (also a satisfying number haha) with a five star average. Two of my products are below; my "buy a badge for my next customer" listing and my heart shaped "you don't get to agree to disagree on human rights" pin button. My avatar/logo is an illustration of myself with blue hair.]

Still sure I'm one and done! ✌🏻 Don't think James would stand for a sibling anyway. He doesn't even like seeing us hold the "other baby" in the mirror. 😂

Favourite thing from this last year? Or from the decade? For me personally I grew and birthed a human this past year and I met my husband, married him and started my business in this past decade. 🌈 it's been alright innit.
Happy New Year. And if it feels daunting, that's alright and normal. ❤ it doesn't have to be a big deal. It's just another day pals.

I'm taking part in Etsy's boxing day sale. 10% off orders totalling £15+ till 5am on the 6th of January. I rarely do sales but this is also kinda me celebrating that I'll be back at work properly in January, with Twig being at nursery two days a week! ❤
Orders will start shipping again from the 6th of January but check the processing time before you order. 🌈
If you have a deadline for when you need/want your order or you're confused about processing times just ping me a message with what you're planning to order and I can let you know what you can expect from processing, shipping and arrival timeframes. 🎉

Merry Christmas my loves. Also sending love to those for whom Christmas is an unpleasant and difficult time year. Those with family trauma and who have to spend time around toxic people who do nothing for your mental health because it's actually just easier or safer this way. I see you and I'm holding space for you. Love you. ❤
[Image description: A round 58mm badge on a background of pastel blue faux fur with pink sequins. The badge has a fuzzy blue tone background with pop...s of other pastel colours and black text that reads "you can talk to me if you're struggling" then below, in smaller letting and italicised, "(even if we don't know each other)".]
(Remember, I do have my own mental health to look after but as always if you're really struggling and have nowhere else to turn, you can message this page in an emergency. I am *not* a trained mental health professional, but I can listen and honestly and objectively tell you: the world is better with you in it).

It's been a while! What's new with you? Here's twig's face because he's fucking adorable fight me.
P.s. Twig starts nursery two days a week in January so I'll be running a boxing day/I'm back to semi-normal processing times bitches sale so keep ya eyes peeled pals! 😘

Opinions are for discussions and disagreements about food preferences and colour schemes, not whether you think disabled people deserve to live above the breadline or people of colour deserve equity and equality. This is available on my Etsy store. ❤ Doodlepeople.Etsy.com

Seriously pals. Get the Tories the fuck out. The NHS won't survive them much longer.

My processing times* have been shortened! They aren't back down to normal but my badges are now 2-3 weeks processing time and most more complicated items (patches, jewellery, mugs, etc.) Are 3-4 weeks. I'm hoping to catch up more on backlogged orders today so I can squeeze those processing times down even more! Aiming for 3-5 days on badges in time for Twig starting nursery two days a week in January. ❤
Remember, processing times are not the time it will take you to receive your order. Processing time is the time it takes me to fulfil your order and shipping time is *on top* - shipping time varies based on where you are in the world.

All of this!

James helped me design some patches yesterday. This has been turned into a patch now, it just needs trimming and gluing but I love it already. Because ya know all us queers are gonna burn in hell anyway and Satan is a dude.
[Image description: a photo of my iPad screen with my son's foot in his stripy onesie in the bottom corner. The design on screen is unfinished with no border. It has a mint green background and blue hand written text that reads "Satan save the queers".]

He inspires new designs. 🌈

His blanket is dark blue. The patch has a cornflower background and pink text and border. The text reads "tiny feminist".]

Stop shifting the burden to individuals. It's up to all of us to do what we can but guess what? There's only so much we, the little guy, can do.
[Image description: a tweet from the new York post with a photo of shrink wrapped coca cola bottles. The tweet reads "coca cola is the world's largest plastic polluter for the second year straight". The retweet from user "I'm That Hazel" reads "oh you mean banning straws* and getting mad about inhalers didn't help / amazing / who cou...ld have foreseen".]
* did you know that plastic straws account for only 0.025% of plastic pollution in the oceans? 46% of the great Pacific garbage patch is actually made up of fishing nets. Easy to condemn something (like plastic straws or inhalers) when it's something you could easily go without ever using/ever using again (a luxury not afforded to the disabled people who rely on these items). Think with ya brains pals. And think about others too.
