Russell Woodham is a contract Hedgelayer Est 1999 & based in South West Dorset in the UK. Cutting in the Dorset, Devon, South of England styles.
He is a member of The National Hedgelaying Society www. hedgelaying.org. uk and NHLS Accreditation # WOO 002-39
His work is stewardship approved and a competition winner, The Dorset style was accepted in the National Championships in 2013 & Russell has won the Dorset Class in 2014 & 2016 & was 2nd in 2013 & 15. In 2014 & 2016 I was very pleased to be asked to attend the prestigious Patron Contest at Highgrove and to meet HRH Prince Charles. I believe the first Dorset Hedgelayer to be asked to this invite only contest
The contests can be very mixed with a win one week and the wooden spoon the next. Its all down to the draw, what the judge is looking for and of course what you can do with your section. Melplash Show Local Hedging Competition seven years running 2008-2014, and again in 2016 & Overall champion of all classes four years running 2011-2014 plus other wins and placements at Melplash and in many other competitions across Dorset, Devon, Wiltshire, Somerset & Isle of Wight.
