User

We had a 1 night stay & absolutely loved it, the staff were extremely friendly, professional & nothing was too much trouble , we would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely hotel , we will definitely return

User

We attended a charity ball and everything was excellent, the food and service could not be faulted even down to the complimentary champagne when the desserts we had pre ordered ran out. The young waiter Robert (I think) couldn’t do enough to put it right. Excellent customer service.

We are just back from a stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Lincoln. The room was spotlessly clean and the bath towels were huge. We were sat at a window table for breakfast and marvelled at the view of the cathedral. All members of staff were polite and friendly throughout our stay. On the downside the hotel car park only has about a dozen spaces but there is a public one about 50 metres away. The hallway carpet looks very tired and needs to be changed as it gives a poor, but incorrect, view of the hotel in general.

This hotel is close to a number of pubs, bars and restaurants.

All in all, a very good hotel.

User

The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful if they tried - really couldn’t fault their service. Getting a welcome cookie on arrival is a nice touch too. Any request I had was sorted within minutes, the room was clean and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. I’ll definitely stay here again and couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Me and my girlfriend checked in last weekend to celebrate her 21st birthday, and we loved every minute! If I could give an extra star, I would..

The hotel room was stunning, and we had little treats prepared and tailored for Rebecca's 21st upon entering the room; thank you very much to Anthony Sexton for doing this. The link I was sent wouldn't work, but he called me personally and took all my details and what I requested, telling me within seconds 'ok, not a problem. That's all sorted, anything else I can help with?' The service was beyond refreshing and exceedingly professional. So thank you!

We also had a meal in the Marco Pierre White Restaurant; flawless. From the service (tom/Connor) to the actual food, I can't reccomend enough.

We also had some pre drinks in our room with 5 of her best friends who had made the trip, and the ladies at the front desk asked me if I would like any ice or means to keep our drinks chilled. 5 buckets of ice for prosecco, beers and spirits which we had brought were sent up within minutes. Honestly, we've had such a fantastic weekend and we can't wait to come back! From me, my girlfriend and all our friends who made the trip for the meal and night out, we say thank you!! X

User

I have never felt so special in my life being at this hotel. Highly respectful people and friendly staff. I went here for a break from things and to relax. Very welcoming as well. Always happy to help as well. Thank you for your kind and welcoming and kind service. Clean and presentable rooms. Very impressed all round.

I booked a Cocktail Masterclass for my friends Hen Do. Sophia was so accommodating throughout the booking process to any requests I had for the group and booking the event and then paying the deposit was really efficient with her confirming my booking the week before. On the day we were greeted by Jaroslav who told us it was his first solo Masterclass! He did a fantastic job and we couldn’t have asked for more. The 4 cocktails we made were delicious and he was the perfect balance as he made it fun but also kept us all on track with making the cocktails when needed. Lovely setting with a rooftop terrace to enjoy your cocktails and also The Electric is a lovely bar on the top floor to take your cocktails afterwards. Thanks for such a memorable time and a special mention to Jaroslav.

Ginny Brown & the Collective had the great pleasure of kicking off the first event night for 2018 on the 23rd February at the 70's Retro Night. It was our first time at the Hilton, and we had a wonderful time made all the more special by the absolutely fantastic guests who came and partied in such a fabulous setting! All the staff were very welcoming and extremely polite too, and we really hope to return in the future. By the way, we loved the Electric Bar as well!

User

only complaint was the room view, As was looking into a derelict building, side of hotel.

But room itself was excellent, Impressed with the complimentary toiletries, as all bases covered, staff helpful and friendly, loved the roof top cocktail bar. Great ambiance ,

Good bar staff.

User

We are in the restaurant at lunchtime and food was good, great value lunchtime menu.

The Electric Bar was lovely, great seating areas including the balconies outside and the cocktails were superb.

User

The hotel was lovely although they messed up the booking but we did get an upgrade. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help!

User

No signage to car park, so parked in council car park and walked along, this was a cheaper option. Room was lovely and as it was my birthday a " towel " cake and lots of bling in the bed, very nice added touch. The room was great and the bathroom amazing. Breakfast was l a little irritating as all the hot food, which was self service was all at one corner and as it was a weekend, expectantly busy. Overall we had a wonderful stay, a lovely hotel in a lovely position by the river. ( lots of restaurants to choice from )

User

Lovely hotel, even let us swap wkend because of the snow.

We had a room without a view but it was no trouble moving us to a room with a better view 👍🏻 Even has a top floor bar called electric bar with some amazing views onto the Brayford waterfront . Some excellent restaurants very close by and a short walk into the centre/ shops.👍🏻

User

Having stayed at the holiday inn next door and now this hotel have to say this hotel was disappointing the car park was full so had to park down the road in the multi storey . Had to ask for two room cards as only given one and had very noisy guests next door I had to ring and complain in the early hours of the morning and when I said at the time of checkout not much interest was shown in the way of an apology

Would not stay here again.

I do want to say Thankyou to the housekeeping staff for our Easter bunny’s with a chocolate egg

User

Stopped here as a treat following an event at the nearby Engine Shed. First impressions were good, the Hotel is situated in a nice location on the Brayford but parking area only houses about 20 vehicles which is poor considering the hotel boasts 115 rooms, if you are lucky enough to get a space its £12 for the privilege per day !!!!

The check in was swift and hassle free courtesy of the friendly and helpful staff plus they give you 2 warm cookies as part of the welcome.

The room was disappointing though, what looked like a large window behind the curtains actually turned out to be a small window which was fixed and not able to be opened, this gave the room the look and feel of a well furnished cupboard and not what I would expect from a high quality hotel chain.

On a plus point there was a good selection of Twinings teas plus toiletries and huge bath towels. The bed was king size and very comfortable however the pillows were that soft they just wanted to wrap around your head and suffocate you.

The bathroom had a broken bracket on the shower rail which had a load of thick black mould around it, the hose for the shower was also supposed to be fixed into this bracket but it was loose so when the shower was turned on the shower head twisted sending water all over the floor. The tiny glass shower panel was just ridiculous and totally insufficient.

If you have room 314 check out the huge stain on the lampshade which has been there for a while, also check to see if the mould is still present on the shower bracket.

Later in the evening when we retired to bed we both spent most of the night awake due to an annoying fridge type sound and whirring noise which looked to be coming from above the main door, we didn't have the aircon on but assume its something to do with that ?? after several sleepless hours we took the electric card out which slightly quietened it Then came the noise from outside which further kept us awake, I can only guess it was from the building next door as it sounded like a really noisy extractor fan/ventilation system/jet engine type noise which I couldn't confirm due to the inability to open a window !!!!!!

Room 314 gave us a terrible experience on how to check out feeling totally wrecked as a result of about 1 hours sleep, i'm pretty sure I would have felt less tired driving home after the night out.

So would we stay there again ? probably not (unless we were guaranteed a decent quality and QUIET room)

Liked: Exterior design of hotel, location to venue and eateries, friendly check in staff, bath towels and huge comfortable bed.

Disliked: Poor sleep, mould in bathroom, cupboard feel to the room, Sealed small window, oversoft pillows, quantity of homeless/rough sleepers around hotel, micro sized car parking.

I have contacted Hilton Guest Services but yet to get a reply other than the automated acknowledgement.

Rooms weren’t set up properly, room was freezing, no heating in bathroom so none of us could have a shower, disturbed at 0015 by the chef bringing an extra quilt, waiter spilt coffee on my friends phone and didn’t apologise, deputy manager pretended to be a waitress to get feedback and then pulled a chair up at breakfast whilst we were still eating, she left to find out from reception what had happened and then when she returned said that she had been in our room without permission! No more to be said really.

User

Room was very cold, heating didn’t work, no hot water so couldn’t have a bath, went and discussed at reception and was told it would be sorted, got a telephone call an hour later saying problem had been fixed, still didn’t have heating or hot water

I went with a group of 19 motorcyclists, we were wet and cold when we arrived and thought we would be able to dry our clothes in the room

User

Booked a suite for an anniversary, room was unhygienic and unsafe.

Black mould oozing from shower heads, exposed electrical wires due to missing plug sockets, damp smell throughout suite due to extractor fan notworkung, stained carpets and dead fly stuck to roof.

Complained to Hilton and was offered complimentary Hilton honours points which I did not want, requested refund as the room had previously had a poor review on trip advisor and issues not resolved hence why black mould oozing from shower head, to date no refund.

I escalated my complaint and received an email from the hotel general manager who said he would investigate and give make it his priority to resolve, weeks later nothing, no response no resolution.

I have honestly stayed in nicer travel lodges, when your paying almost £200 fir a night you expect quality not substandard unsafe and unhealthy rooms.

Sadly as the hotel manager did not follow through with his assurances I have no option but to escalate externally and pursue action through the small claims.
