We had our wedding reception here and would definitely recommend to others. They helped us plan everything, and really took the stress out of organising such a big event. It's a lovely venue, the wedding package was great value for money and Laura and Steve were fantastic making sure everything was right for the day. My only criticism was the excessive cost of rooms which meant people were put off staying the night.

User

Staff very helpful, room very comfortable and clean and you could either eat at the hotel or next to the hotel was a Marsdon pub you could use , also very close to Bourton on the water and stow on the wold amazing weekend thankyou

User

Really enjoyed even if was only for a one night stay DBB. Rooms spacious and whilst there is no air conditioning there was a fan which worked well and kept the room cool. Dinner and breakfast served in a spacious restaurant. Breakfast - good selection and we'll presented. Dinner - very good menu and service for both breakfast and dinner was excellent. Reception staff excellent, one of them, Zoe, who had just come off duty took us to reception as we couldn't find the way. So, the only downside is coming in from the car park the signage could be a bit better. Bonus - swimming pool . We shall definitely return.

User

Lovely friendly staff room not the best weve had but adequate for us bed fantastic food was great and stayed hot to the last mouthful only thing i will say though and this goes to all hotels anywhere never enough tea/coffee/sugar in rooms that said we will be back

User

I came with my beautiful girlfriend to watch the final game of the six nations which Ireland won at a canter and therefore the grand slam .

Anyway back to the point .

Fantastic place great staff .

I will visit again as I travel a lot with work

User

Had our wedding here on 19th May 2018 and the events team were absolutely amazing especially Laura and Steve. Everything went smoothly from booking the venue through to the big day and all the planning in between. The venue went out of their way to ensure that everything went smoothly and it was the best day ever. I would highly recommend any couples getting married to book this venue.

User

Booked a Groupon spa day with 2 treatments and afternoon tea. We started with a quick lunch which was excellent, the spa staff were very helpful and the spa facilities are great. One niggle is never enough loungers (this is the problem at a lot of spas). Treatments were first class and afternoon tea was one of the best we have had. As a birthday treat for my friend it was a great success. Thank you - we will be back.

User

2nd time here, just love it, so doggie friendly, hot chocolate cookie on arrival, rooms are huge and not too hot, food in Lake 53 hotel restaurant amazing, friendly and helpful service, easy parking close to our room, wonderful relaxing spa treatment albeit a wee bit pricey, but apart from that couldn't recommend enough, won't be our last visit!

User

Used this hotel as a venue in a private room for a friend's baby shower, everything was wonderfully coordinated, plenty space, great team to make it happy, organised and clear and concise in the details of everything, value for money, and well looked after!

Would very much recommend!

Really nice hotel, staff are friendly and helpful l. Pool and gym are very good, free parking. Food is nice. Rooms are really nice albeit quiet small but perfectly fine. Only downside is the free WiFi is appalling. I realise there’s a premium WiFi but that’s an outdated concept everybody expects usable WiFi now to be included. Otherwise a good hotel.

User

Had a Spa Day today with my daughters. Started off with afternoon tea which was nice. Only complaint was when I asked for another pot of tea, the waiter just used the same teapot and filled it with water using the old teabags. Treatments were really lovely. Very relaxing. The facilities were great in the spa. I thought the changing room was fine. The staff in the spa and hotel were very friendly and helpful.

User

Great location, warm friendly courteous staff, fabulous spa facilities, beautiful grounds. Only criticism is don’t wait too late to have breakfast as the food can look and taste like it’s been sitting there for ages.

User

Came here for a spa day today and was pleasantly surprised. The spa rooms are lovely and the treatments were very relaxing. The staff on the desk at the spa were very helpful and professional and happy to help with any queries or issues (like me locking myself out of the locker!!).

The swimming pool area was bigger than in some similar hotels but when we arrived it was full of children so we left our visit until later on. The jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were fairly small so I could imagine you cant always get into them at busy times.

As part of our deal we got lunch, I had a really delicious salmon Caesar salad and my friend hada chicken tikka sandwich which she enjoyed. The only thing I was a bit disappointed in was the lack of cakes, would have been nice to have an option of a cake with a coffee later on in the day but thats hardly the end of the world, just a nice added extra!

The only thing that stops me giving 5 stars is the changing rooms. Although nice and modern looking they were far too small, barely enough room for more than about 6 people to change.

User

Spa treatments were lovely as were the rooms. However it all fell apart at dinner in the hotel restaurant. Not only were the meals not up to order specifications the staff were rude and the manager denied all responsibility by saying he wasn't the restaurant manager. The duty manager was involved and managed to have the bill halved but it didn't make up for the poor experience to end our birthday celebrations. After spending upwards of £600 between us we have been thoroughly disappointed.

User

Four of us booked the spa for a 30th birthday on Saturday. The reception staff were helpful and booked us in and bought us our robes/towels and slippers. The reception room itself was extremely busy and people did run out of spaces to sit. We went to the changing rooms which needed cleaning. I understand that people walk into the changing rooms with their shoes on but more attention is needed. The floor was filthy leading to the toilets and pool area. There aren't any hooks on the back of the toilet door which I feel is needed because you have to hold onto your robe as there is no where else to put it! Not great.

The spa itself is tired and needs attention. There were tiles missing off the jacuzzi. There are only 5 loungers and 4 chairs. Very disappointing as there were a lot of people using the facilities and no where to actually relax. We ended up having to sit by the window on the ledge. The sauna and steam room were good. The treatments were lovely and all four of us agreed that we enjoyed these. We had afternoon tea included with our booking and it was nice! We did end up leaving earlier than expected because there was just no where to sit. I personally wouldn't go again for a spa day as it just was not relaxing.

User

The Hotel room was a family king room for 3 which was visually nice and nice views of the rear garden with forest views I would give the room 8/10 for cleanliness but the bathroom I would give 5/10 as there was pubic hair in the bath and other bodily hair the tiles had resonance of what I can only imagine was snot from a previous visitor who had blown there nose clean in the shower which had dried hard to the tiles, as for the food avoid the Chefs special curry unless you like your curry swimming in oil and the batter on the cod was soft and like the fish was standing for a while however both dishes were returned and the battered cod was nice and crispy as it should be and even though the curry came back out with no oil swimming around on top was still disappointing, the breakfast was decent, would stay again I’m on the fence with that one maybe the cleaner needs glasses or perhaps if it was another room or day it would have been different.

User

Robes were really tatty and creased. Pool was closed for an aerobics class. No explanation of how to use the locker system. Only four or five loungers. Jacuzzi was taken up by members who spoke none stop for two hours (no joke!). Changing room too busy and full of members before and after their class. Not my idea of a relaxing spa day. Afternoon tea was the best part. Unfortunately I would not recommend.

My husband booked the Spa stay as a surprise for my 40th birthday and invited our friends to join us. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were welcoming. Our evening meal was nice and we were looking forward to our treatments. As this was a surprise and my husband couldn’t ask me what treatments I would like without ruining the whole thing he assumed I would be able to select what I wanted and book in. I know they called him before hand to ask what was required but at no point was he informed that it must be booked to avoid disappointment. When I went to book my treatments I was told there were no appointments left but could squeeze two in at 4:30 on the day we check out, while it was offered to extend our late check out it was not suitable having a child and life to get back to. I was a bit disappointed that the “Spa stay” had basically changed to a stay with dinner but we were charged for the Spa stay. When my husband requested a discount because of this issue he was told “I don’t think we can do that but I’ll check with the manager” we waited for the manager to become available to deal with our issue and my husband had to go back to reception to chase it up. Being give a discount of £45 as a good will type gesture is all well and good but we still paid over the odds for what was a dinner stay not a Spa stay. Don’t understand why you would over sell these things and Spa days on top of the health club members this place does not have the capacity to pull it off successfully. The robes were tatty and frayed it’s not much of a Spa more like a hotel with a few extras. Not 4* I’d say 3, whilst it was comfy in the room and the food was nice it wasn’t quite as good as you would expect of Hilton, given this was a surprise treat and my husband went to a lot of effort arranging it for me I feel that the £45 discount was a bit of an insult and had the bill been paid by myself I would of given the price of the stay with dinner and no more but I didn’t want to push this issue and make my husband feel bad that it wasn’t quite what he had hoped it would be for such a special occasion. Wouldn’t recommend or return sadly

It is a soulless place and a few staff were very friendly and one found a check in problem funny. She had no front desk guest communication skills. Another receptionist found us a room within minutes.

Bathroom small and poor shower. Room ok otherwise but if you were here in a warm summer there is no air conditioning just a large fan in the corner of the room.

Room service fine and a good breakfast. Lots of stairs in the property.

Lovely gardens and they accept dog's.

There was just something about the place I didn't like, can't exactly say what it was but Titan Holidays had a turkey and tinsel group in and some of their elderly clients were a bit rude and pushy.

What can I say? It was just ok. I'm a Hilton Honors member and try to keep to their hotel group when I travel. If I needed accommodation in Cheltenham again I would probably stay again but get certain vague promises finalised before I book. You win some you lose some.
