❤️ Learn As You Go - Parenting really has no manual or guidebook. You can read as many books as you want, but nothing can ever fully prepare you for parenthood until your baby is finally here! Everyone learns as they go, and that is OK. 🧡 Perfect Is A Myth - We all have the best intentions for our tiny loved ones, and I truly believe in ‘When you parent your way, you parent the best way’. We all find ‘our way’, different to each other and wi...th different norms, but all doing the best we can. We all make mistakes, especially when we’re having to learn as we go. But, we are only human. 💛 Don’t Compare, You’re New At This! Everyone starts at Day 1, just like everybody else. We are all given a tiny, demanding bundle of love and crazy hormones and although it is good to talk to other mothers for advice, tips or that reassurance that you’re not alone in this, it’s also very easy to compare this new chapter of your lives with other’s. There will be days where you really have your stuff together, and other days where you just simply won’t, and that goes for everyone. We all experience difficulties, temper tantrums, bad days, and you’ll soon realise you’re not the only one. Don’t compare. You’re doing great. 💚 Take Time For You - And I can’t stress this one enough. New babies are so demanding, it’s easy to forget to make time for yourselves, and each other. Big or small, make sure you’re taking time for you. Looking after parents is just as important as looking after the newborn, for they have just been born too. 💙 You Have Everything You Need - Right now, it’s just about spending time with and nurturing your baby. You need a comfy space, skin to skin, and nourishment. 💜 You Got This - 100%, without a shadow of a doubt. This whole parenting gig is no easy ride, and although it comes naturally, it takes time. Just keep going and follow your instincts. You’ve got this. 💘 It’s New. Feel How You Feel - Because it’s OK. Allow it, accept it. Because it will pass. Stay in touch with your circle, and remember that it’s okay to reach out and ask for/accept help if you need it. People will be there to reassure you and lighten your load. Having a baby comes with a whole host of hormonal changes and mixes of emotions, but don’t give yourself a hard time for how you’re feeling. It’s new.
