Booked a last minute night away stunning bedrooms, friendly staff, amazing grounds and a phenomenal brekkie

Excellent service and facilities, made our stay there really special. This is our second visit and it brought to a close a three month trip from USA. We started the trip first night at Doxford, and made use of the amazing facilities. The couple's massage was perfect, so second time round we did the same. Beautiful surroundings and really reasonable prices for both the hotel and the spa. We will definitely be going again. Can't wait to see the seeping drive and beautiful architecture again. Make sure you stay at the coach house!!

Visited Doxford Hall with my girlfriend for afternoon tea after she received a gift experience for her birthday. We arrived at Doxford Hall and found that the signs did not clearly point out where to head in for the restaurant and leisure activities but were instead prioritised for the Hotel only. We went through a door at the front to what looked like a lounge area to find that we had indeed went through a fire exit and ended up walking through the entire building before reaching some members of staff to assist. When we finally got seated for our booking for afternoon tea we found the atmosphere rather tense, as there was no ambient music playing and felt that every word we said could be heard. A waiter arrived to greet us and admitted that he did not have any idea what he was doing in terms of waiting for afternoon teas, which we found very unprofessional and giving a negative first impression of the venue. He left us multiple times to ask his colleagues for help and finally we were able to make our order. When the afternoon tea arrived, we felt that it was quite bare in terms of quantity of items, for example there was a single plain scone and a single fruit scone to share between us.
On a positive note, the sweet selection of the afternoon tea was the most appealing and found the chocolate orange brownie/gateau to be the best!
Overall a below average experience and would not be eager to advise others to visit.

Spectacular hotel if you want to feel like the lord and lady of the manor for a few days. Everything is out the place is 'just right' with the decor fresh and clean. The rooms are well proportioned and furnished and the staff are welcoming and attentive.

What a lovely day myself and daughter had at this beautiful building. We had the full use of the spa followed by lunch and relaxation. Staff were lovely and friendly and the chef went out of his way to provide a vegetarian lunch for me.
What a lovely relaxing day in beautiful surrounding countryside. We will certainly return to this little gem in Northumberland.

Wonderful large rooms. TV was small for the size of the room. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely cooked breakfast. Not always someone ready to serve at the bar. Overall lovely place to stay.

A small hotel with good facilities. Service was OK and food was OK, but nothing to write home about. Unfortunately this is the only largish hotel with a swimming pool in the area, so I would return. But when you compare the room/food/service (which we paid £340 for 2 nights) to Rockliffe Hall where we paid £40 less for 2 nights and got a free spa garden experience and a champagne, then there is no choice...Rockcliffe all the way!

Nice location, nice room, beds comfy and nice bath. Service was inconsistent - some members of staff super helpful while others not so much. Didn't use all the facilities. Probably would have rated higher if we had fully utilised all the facilities.
