What a building. Built circa 1580. Original panels, paintings and dining tables. When you are having a drink or dining you can imagine people in medieval England dining sitting on the same chairs and using the same tables as you, The food has greatly improved and we had a memorable experience. Well done Drapers Hall.

We stayed here for a night away the hotel was really clean and loved the history of the building. We stayed in the wool room and it was beautiful. Will definitely return for another visit.

We just had an event in aid of #selfhelpafrica for 75 guests at Drapers and all I can say is it was utterly amazing from start to finish, the planning and attention to detail was incredible, the service was very personal. The food was incredible by far the best food we have ever eaten in Shropshire never mind Shrewsbury., A very big thank you to you all. I highly highly recommend Drapers as a venue for a special event.

We held our wedding celebration dinner at the Drapers Hall on 27th January 2018 and it was perfect! The attention to detail from Rob and Olivia before the day made us feel so reassured, the food (including vegan and special dietary plates) was incredible! Nothing was too much trouble for them, including giving hugs when needed! Can’t thank you enough and would recommend anyone to visit this historic and extremely well run establishment. �

We had the most amazing Sunday lunch today so beautiful presented the best gravy beef etc. Our children eat theirs all up and they can be hard to please. Staff were very chatty and attentive we loved it so much booked to go back Mother’s Day well it saves me cooking it lol xXx

We had an absolutely incredible meal here last night. Sarah and the team offer outstanding service. We will definitely be returning soon. I can honestly say our meal choices were the best we have ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails too. The building is so historic and full of character. A wonderful relaxing romantic ambiance. Very elegant afternoon tea in a unique environment. Thank you to Olivia and her team. The portions were generous and imaginative. I have the challenging combination of dairy & gluten intolerance. Chef came through with flying colours. Thank you again, wonderful afternoon in an oasis of calm in the middle of crazy Christmas Sale shoppers. Will definitely be returning.

The hall itself is a beautiful, characterful old building which the new owners are currently doing some remodelling to in order to improve its facilities. The lounge area is wonderful with a huge log fire where we say to enjoy out pre-dinner cocktails. The dining room is full of character and made a suitable setting for the beautiful food that was prepared by the new chef, Richard. The menu provided a good variety of dishes which will be changed according to the season. I shall definitely be going back.

Popped in for a drink on Saturday night for the first time - the food looked so good we ended up staying. They were so accommodating even though they were busy and we had a delicious meal with fantastic locally sourced ingredients. We will definitely be back - hopefully for Sunday lunch!

I went to Drapers Hall for lunch a few weeks ago and loved it. The new cocktail menu was fab, especially the ‘English Garden’. We enjoyed a 3-course meal from the lunch for less menu and really enjoyed it.

I took my boyfriend here for dinner on his birthday after a friends recommendation. It did not disappoint! Delicious food, great atmosphere and wonderful service. Thank you - we will be back!

Fabulous meal, loved the setting and atmosphere. A small menu but I had difficulty choosing as it all looked to good. Staff were lovely helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend.

An excellent lunch with friends today at Drapers. A thoughtful and enticing menu at a reasonable price. The food was delicious - top quality, locally sourced ingredients with lots of fresh, cleverly balanced flavours. Always a treat to visit this wonderful, historic building and, at last, under the new ownership the food compliments the surroundings. Needless to say empty plates all round and we will return shortly!

Amazing food and outstanding service! The roe deer was unbelievably good. For dessert I threw caution to the wind and had the "chicory and tonka bean mille-feuille with pistachio crumb". I chose it out of sheer curiosity - and really enjoyed it. The staff were so helpful and the surroundings wonderful. Thank you.

A very very lovely family lunch at Drapers today. Our food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere just perfect in such a stunning building, paired with the usual warm, friendly, attentive service.

"Amazing", "so good" & "I love it there" came from our 3 children aged 8, 10 & 12 on our way home. It is most definitely our favourite place to eat or even just for a drink in Shrewsbury. Highly recommend!

A couple of friends and I had afternoon tea at Drapers Hall last weekend and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely the best afternoon tea I’ve had. There was a fantastic selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones and jams. All handmade using quality ingredients. We were spoilt for choice and there was plenty to go around. I should also mention the lovely atmosphere. The staff were polite and helpful without being too pushy. We were left to relax and enjoy ourselves in the beautiful dining room before moving outside to enjoy the lovely sunshine on the terrace. We must have been there for hours, but were never made to feel in the way or unwelcome. Thank you Drapers for such a wonderful afternoon. I will definitely be back and have already recommended you to friends and family. �

The food in Drapers is second to none. Unfortunately the service is very much lacking for a restaurant of this level. Simple details were missed a number of times and on provision of the feedback these points were debated ! They appear to be somewhere in between levels of service. I was warned about sketchy service and the reports were accurate. Again I had no issue what so ever with the food or wine.
