This Sunday 13th May, sees the climax of the 2017-2018 DRFC U11 rugby season.
From that point on (until September) Sunday’s are yours again! (For those not doing cricket of course)
Can you please arrive at the club for 9:45 ready to start some games at 10.
... There will be some age group awards as well and then the more formal minis awards starting at 11:15 for all mini age groups
Once again, a big thank you for all your support this year and we look forward to the last season next year as minis before moving up to Juniors.
If I don’t see you on Sunday, have a great summer and I will see you for the start of next season on September 2nd.
Regards
Elwyn

On a positive note What are fantastic day at the mini festival today.
Well done Iain Thomas and the U9
... Whilst the result today at Twickenham was not what we all hoped for, it shows the future possibilities for what the seniors are doing and the foundations they are laying down for the club for the future.
Continue to build, develop and grow

What a tremendous festival of rugby ruby today at DRFC. The weather was fantastic and we had queues of cars getting into the ground
Well done to the U9’s (especially Iain) for organising.

Wishing DRFC U11’s the very best of luck for an enjoyable festival tomorrow. Weather reminiscent of 2015!! Sorry I can’t be there. I’ve got a slightly different supporting role to perform tomorrow 😀

Don’t forget the the senior team are playing at Twickenham in the intermediate final which is being streamed in the club.

There is a pitch inspection on Thursday 11th. I will send out details for Sunday when I know what is happening.

For those that don’t know and have not seen the numerous signs, it is the Velo Birmingham this weekend (24th) and a number of roads will be closed leading into Droitwich. For details of the route check out https://velobirmingham.com/the-route/ which highlights the route from Birmingham to Droitwich and back again. I imagine this will cause a bit of disruption, so I would suggest you make some extra time to get to training just in case.

On Sunday 10th September we will be joined at DRFC by the charity Bloodwise and the NHS Blood and Transplant team.
James O'Mara, a Minis and Juniors player for DRFC, sadly passed away at the beginning of June after a very short battle with Leukaemia. During his time in the Birmingham Children's Hospital he was given 89 units of blood and we at DRFC are really keen to try and raise a minimum of 89 units from a blood donation drive at the club.
The aim of the morning is to rai...se awareness of Bloodwise, and the work they do in researching into all types of blood cancer, and we are looking for players, parents and friends of the club to register for giving blood at some point in the near future. We won't be asking people to give blood on the 10th but the NHS team will be on hand to complete screening to determine whether you are able to donate at a future event in Droitwich/Worcestershire.
Bloodwise will have children's activities during the morning so M&Js players, and their siblings, can learn about the charity and help raise awareness of the charity.
Please share and pass the details of this event to all of your friends, family and colleagues, and please encourage as many people as possible to come along to the club on the morning of the 10th to donate.

With only a few days to go until the start of an exciting new season.........

User

Since we are clearly the best age group at Car parking, we have been asked to set the standard for the season ahead this weekend.
Can I have volunteers please to show the other age groups how it's done!
Thanks
... Elwyn.
