Saudi offensive to capture the strategic port of Hodeidah on Yemen’s Red Sea coast appears to be imminent and likely to take place in early June. Multiple Houthis supply lines have reportedly been severed this month, and Saudi sources claim that the coalition advance has expelled Houthi forces from approximately 85% of Yemeni territory. It is reported that coalition troops are within 15km of Hodeidah itself, and are warning civilians away from the port and airport which will be key targets.

A crew member from cargo vessel MV FWN Rapide was located onboard the ship overnight. He had been hiding in the ship’s engine room for over two days, after the vessel had been attacked off the Niger Delta on Saturday morning.
