BCAA what is it? and what's the 2:1:1, 4:1:1 & 8:1:1 all about?
BCAA (Branch Chain Amino acids) help prevent muscle breakdown whilst promoting muscle growth.
Of the three amino acids that make up BCAA (Leucine, iso-leucine and valine), LEUCINE is the one that promotes muscle growth, however, the other two aminos are needed to help leucine work properly.
... Adding more Leucine to BCAA formula is thought to increase the strength of BCAA. So you can now get BCAA in 3 strengths according to amount of leucine:
BCAA 2:1:1 = normal strength BCAA 4:1:1 = stronger BCAA 8:1:1 = the strongest.
