The Duke of Gloucester Barracks is a military installation at South Cerney in Gloucestershire. HistoryThe barracks were established, on the site of the former RAF South Cerney airbase, in 1971, when 29 Movement Control Regiment Royal Corps of Transport (now 29 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps) moved there. 29 Regiment is responsible for management of the Joint Air Mounting Centre ('JAMC') which handles processing, baggage checks, feeding and travel to RAF Brize Norton for military personnel about to be deployed overseas. The Regiment itself is also heavily involved in both operational deployments and in support of training exercises, with both Postal Courier and Movement Controller trades providing constant manning for support and sustainment of the Armed Forces' commitments wherever in the world. The barracks is also home to the headquarters of 104th Logistic Support Brigade.
