We stayed one night here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and had a wonderful stay.

The setting is so beautiful and tranquil. We had a gorgeous, spacious room, overlooking the lake.

The staff where all charming and helpful, particularly the delightful lady on reception.

We thoroughly enjoyed drinks on the terrace ,dinner and breakfast and have returned home feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Many thanks

We have been coming to Dumbleton Hall for quite a few years. We are staying in a superior room as I write this gazing out of window looking at the lovely gardens. Staff are always pleasant and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is always delicious. What is nice this time of the year are the lambs and their mums running around in the grounds and the beautiful black swans with their 5 babies. Seeing is believing.

We had the pleasure of having our exclusive wedding at Dumbleton Hall Hotel and it was absolutely perfect!!! We had the best day and the staff were miracle workers! The food was amazing and if I had to recommend this venue, I’d say that exclusive use is the best way to go. They bring the magic to a wonderful winter wedding and we can’t wait to go back for a weekend. Xx

User

We had the most wonderful wedding at Dumbleton last weekend. Fantastic setting and the staff were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. All in all a day that all of our guests will remember for all of the right reasons (and are still talking about)

We got married here on the 16th June and was the best decision we ever made. Booked the date over 2 years ago and the wedding team were just fab! Especially Sarah and Natasha. Very helpful. Had the room set out exactly how we wanted the food was out of this world. Can't wait for another excuse to go back. Xx

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at the venue yesterday with close family and friends and had the use of a private room with doors opening onto the grounds. The food was superb as was the service from the young waiters. James was an absolute star and nothing was too much trouble for him to organise (including taking some group photos for us). The weather was very kind to us and we enjoyed looking around the beautiful grounds. Thanks also to Terri for her event planning ensuring a day to remember. How pleased we were to have chosen this location for our milestone anniversary. John & Viv xx

My husband and I viewed Dumbleton Hall during an open day. We were so excited after reading the history of the building. My stepmum is Canadian and I wanted to find a wonderful stately home that would take her breath away. Wow...when we walked into the entrance hall, the beautiful fire was roaring and we didn’t need to see anymore. We walked to reception and booked the date! Then had the tour which did not disappoint.

The wedding day, August 26, 2016, was all I had ever dreamed. Stacey and Dexter were amazing, thanks so much for keeping me sane. They pre-empted every problem, they were great! We had the best wedding, reception and the gardens were beautiful. We all took to the black swans and signets. The bridal suite had just been refurbished and was beautiful and very comfortable 5/5.

I would do it all again exactly the same way. All guests and family loved the venue and decor as did Wayne and I. Thank you all so very much xx

I first stayed at Dumbleton Hall in 2010 as a surprise for my birthday from my then boyfriend. He made it the most wonderful stay by proposing to me. We decided we would love to get married here and finally after 6 years we tied the knot. We booked our wedding for Sunday 26th February and we couldn't fault the staff at all. We had the most amazing day and would recommend anyone to get married there. The day ran so smoothly and nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Stacey for all the help during the planning, and Dexter who was incredible on the day.

I can even begin to express our thanks and gratitude to everyone at Dumbleton Hall for the wonderful wedding they gave us on Thursday. Right from the visit we had to look around Dumbleton as a potential wedding venue, we were blown away by the breath-taking view and the hotel itself. All the staff, the wedding co-ordinators and especially James (manager), have supported us with our wedding plans and particularly accommodating with our Christmas themed wedding. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day and I have received many compliments on our choice of venue and how welcoming all the staff were. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We would highly recommend this hotel as a wedding venue to any other future bride and grooms. I know we will also be spending time here for family meals and as a hotel stay in the future! Thank you all and we will see again soon. Ali and Paul x

I booked a one night stay for the 4 of us to celebrate my Mum’s 60th Birthday. Even before we had arrived they were very helpful and I felt confident. The hotel is absolutely stunning and the drive up towards it is beautiful passing by all the sheep lying around on the grass around the grounds. You immediately feel like you are away from it all and in a quiet country location. Our rooms were lovely and clean and well laid out. It is a breath of fresh air to stay in a hotel where there are full length mirrors in the bedrooms and a mirror above the dressing table! This might sound strange but I’ve stayed in so many hotels were it is a mission to get ready for an evening because there isn’t one decent mirror. Also, the shower was lovely. Nice and hot and powerful unlike other places where a small trickle comes out. Good selection of drinks at the bar at very reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and accommodating and decorated our table with a ballon and confetti I had bought with us which made it that little bit more special. They also didn’t hesitate when I asked for a candle to be put in my Mum’s pudding and everyone sang Happy Birthday. The food was delicious! The menu is small but there is still variety and something for everyone. The cheese board was particularly delicious! There was another function on that night and a wedding being prepared for the next day but we didn’t feel like we were being ignored or not important. They balanced it very well. Breakfast was also lovely the next morning and we had a very good nights sleep in the comfortable bed and the peace and quiet, not a sound throughout the night. My Mum absolutely loved the hotel and had a fantastic Birthday. She can’t wait to plan her next visit. Very happy and grateful to all the staff who made my Mum’s Birthday so special. Thank you.

From the moment shane and i walked through dumbletons doors we was made to feel so welcomed, from start to finish nothing was to big or small, my silly questions was never an issue! Contact between us and wedding organisers was spot on always there for us. Natasha, sarah m and sarah b, you was amazing and we couldnt of asked for better. From the first time we arrived at Dumbleton Hall we fell in love. We looked for other wedding venues but nothing else compared. The staff have been fantastic especially Dexter, the rest of the wedding coordinators and the late night bar staff (sorry about all the tequila!) nothing was too much trouble for you. The food was incredible! The room was set so perfectly that my husband and I cried. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and we couldn't have wished for a better day. Thank you very much for our perfect wedding.

All the good words have been used to describe this place so go and visit the place yourself

User

The room was excellent, the food was excellent, but the service, at mealtimes was too slow

User

It is a shame that such a gorgeous building has not been made into a glamorous 5 star hotel. That said the room was as expected for the price £75 bnb. The staff especially at reception was great and friendly. Breakfast was very good though I thought 80s pop a bit out of place. Waiting staff very young and friendly but clearly not very well trained. Overall a good experience with massive potential to be brilliant.

User

Excellent value for money, there are always a few niggles with this delightful old place and if it was 5star with a massive staff it would be twice as expensive...highly recommended to the not too fussy.

User

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was pretty good. The grounds are gorgeous, the approach is particularly impressive. There is clearly a programme to upgrade the rooms and our bedroom was recently modernised with a good ensuite. The public rooms do need quite a bit of work doing on them to make them more interesting and modern. The bar in particular is not very welcoming in atmosphere. More thought needs to go into how the public rooms look to the hotel guests. Lovely to have a fire in the entrance hall, and perhaps with more guests the fire in the other lounge would be lit. The approach to the bar just seemed clinical rather than comfortable.

We decided to go away for a night, childfree to celebrate our copper wedding anniversary and chose this stunning location and building. As you approach the state gives you the feeling of being on a national trust site, well maintained grounds and impressive building. The lady in reception was pleasent enough. When we arrived to our room #37 second floor we found that the decor was more of a style of a boutique hotel rather than a stately one. We went downstairs for a drink and walk and found one guy waiting to be served and no one serving at the bar and I had to approach reception staff to send someone to serve us. Everybody seemed to busy preparing everything for a wedding next day and seemed to forget there were other guests. At the time of taking a shower it took over 5 mins to get hot water and the shower head was tiny so no much pressure and really not a good shower. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable with nice bedding so we had a very good sleep!. At dinner time we were not greeted so had to wait a couple of minutes for a waiter to emerged from the kitchen, you will normally have someone greeting you and allocating your seats in a hotel like this but it was not our experience at Dumbleton Hall as we were not greeted a breakfast time either and we helped ourselves to a table and food before we were approached by someone. The food is bland and nothing special, my husband had to return his beef stroganoff as the beef was impossible to chew, really bad. After dinner we retired to the bar for drinks and this time there was a guy there but to busy sorting glasses to care about customers. We had to ask to play some music as the ambience was like a hospital at night! It is almost as if they wanted guests to eat and go back to their room. My husband asked for a Cuba libre drink and the bartender said : we don't have that! My husband asked : do you have coke and limes!? The bartender said : Yes! Then you can do a Cuba libre as I can see the dark run there! A bartender who has never heard of Cuba libre says it all! When we checked out we were not even asked if we had a nice sleep or enjoyed our stay! I really can not believe how appalling the service is in this place despite its stunning grounds and building, it needs an urgent change of staffing and management. I have been treated better staying in a travelodge! We were very disappointed and can not recommend it despite its glorious grounds.
