Gin Festival favourite
Ramsbury Using only finest Horatio wheat and the finest chalk filtered water, the guys at Ramsbury create their single estate spirits from their prized 43 plate copper column still. Sustainability is their thing. Heat is generated from a biomass boiler from their very own woodland and the waste water is cleaned by a wildlife friendly reed bed. Now that's a commitment. No corners cut. Just a great pure sustainable gin. A spirit that benefits the environment and you after a hard day. Everyone’s a winner. Sample it for yourself at our festival 7-8 June. No matter how fabulous the gin, you simply need an amazing tonic to go with it. Dating all the way back to Victorian London, Franklin & Sons have always had a passion for creating amazing tonics. Only ever using natural ingredients, extracts and colours and definitely definitely no sweeteners or preservatives. They're our mixer of choice at the Gin Festival. Try one for yourself with any of the fabulous gins we have on show in the Dundas right now. Get your tickets for the festival 7-8 June here too. https://bit.ly/2FG403J

Leading up to the Gin Festival in June we’ll be showcasing some festival favourites to keep your knowledge topped up nicely. Here’s the first - Whitley Neill.
Owner Johnny Neill, an 8th generation distiller retells his first experience of gin when he discovered a collection of bottles sitting under the stairs at his grandmother's house. This love and fascination for gin started here and has grown ever since. Budding alchemist Neill has since experimented with a variety of incredible botanicals from Cape gooseberry, baobab fruit (their logo) and tart fruit pulp. He then adds another six carefully selected botanicals which are a closely guarded secret. Discover it for yourself with us. And don't forget to secure your Festival tickets too. https://bit.ly/2FG403J

HOMEWORK TIME. Let's do some background on gin. Derived from the Dutch liquor Jenever it became popular in the time of William of Orange. It's predominant flavour is taken from the juniper berry. Gin drinking became a real problem in the UK after the government granted unlicensed gin production. Centuries ago In London alone there were over 7,500 gin shops, so you can imagine the quality was pretty poor. To mask the bitter taste they added quinine dissolved in carbonated water. Thus was the gin and tonic born! Sample real quality G&Ts on the 6th and 7th of June. book your tickets for the festival right here. https://bit.ly/2FG403J
