Wonderful weekend at Durdle Door Holiday Park camping in the woodland area.... Rooks nesting in trees above .. so was a bit noisy + poo on tent .... but you do block it out.

Great reception staff helped very well with our problem finding a chap to jump start our car .. flat battery as our son decided to plug in mobile phone to charge .... did not work so had to call out breakdown which again did not work... Over night wondering what to do ... relay truck home or ??? .. but reception staff helped again by bring in own jump leads to charge our car ... disconnected battery and charging car worked ... many thanks to other campers who helped.

Well be back again this year to finished our camping trip... loved the beach and durdle door.

And the tank museum near by was amazing ��

Toilets and showers good ... but my shower did go cold during showering.

The shop was very well stocked and we enjoyed a couple of meals at the Blue Crab which was very tasty, ... dogs also welcome �

When we retired we decided to purchase a static caravan for extended stays in Dorset. We visited all the holiday parks from Poole to Weymouth and found most of them to be very corporate, commercial and lacking an identity.

On arriving at Durdle Door we were immediately struck with the rural location and the unspoilt surroundings as well as it being a family business. The choosing of a caravan and the location of a suitable pitch was greatly assisted by the management. The staff in both reception and on the park are welcoming, friendly, are soon on first name terms and are keen to help in any way they can.

The recent improvements to the park although at times causing some irritations are now almost completed and will improve the overall ambiance. We would recommend anyone wishing to purchase a caravan or just enjoy a short stay to visit Durdle Door.

We’ve just spent a gloriously sunny weekend in Durdle Door. The caravan park is in a perfect location, situated halfway between West Lulworth cove and Durdle Door. Spectacular views, especially in the sunshine.

The park itself is very clean and the staff incredibly helpful and very polite.

Toilets and shower blocks are cleaned daily and are adequately sized for the camping/caravan touring section. You need a code to enter which is great otherwise tourists visiting Durdle door would no doubt use them. Also its a shame that some users don’t think to clean the floor after using the showers as there is a cleaner mop provided, but the park opener/staff can’t be held responsible for what users do/don’t do.

If you are coming to camp in tents, be aware that crows(or rooks, not sure what they were) nest in the conifers where the campsite is, and they’re very noisy. As we were in a caravan it didn’t wake us up, but i imagine being it an tent it would.

There is a pub/restaurant on site which has friendly staff and an adequate menu. We only ate in there once but what we did have was very good.

What I would also say is that if you like your privacy on your pitch, make sure you take wind breaks with you as people use the park as a walk through to get to the bus stop/coach park, and the pitches are right on the pathway. Everyone and I mean everyone looks in at your pitch as they walk by.

All in all we enjoyed a lovely long weekend here and we most certainly would stay again.

We've had a static caravan on Durdle Door Park for about 10 years now, and last August we bought another lovely caravan - the Durdle Door - which we are extremely happy with. Sadly due to the bad winter we had a few problems when we opened up our van, after the winter closure, but happily all was sorted out immediately for us, and as usual, Becky and all her staff have always been extremely helpful to us and we couldn't have asked for more. A great site, wonderful staff, and a real pleasure to spend our leisure time at Durdle Door. Thank you all.

We love the area and miss it while the caravan park is closed.

We have just spent the weekend here camping, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the facilities were cleaned regularly, the bar was welcoming and the food excellent. Dogs are welcomed in the bar which is a lovely bonus.

But be warned, if you are not used to being woken with a dawn chorus bring earplugs.. we are used to seagulls where we live so it didn't bother us but it did others.

This is our fourth year as owners on Durdle Door Holiday Park and we love it more and more every year. We couldn’t have picked a more stunning location and the sight of the Door on our twice daily walks with our dogs never gets boring. It’s stunning. The Park is excellently managed by Becky and her team of wonderful staff who ensure that all us owners get the best in customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The park is run in a very friendly but professional manner. We have nothing but praise for Durdle Door Holiday Park. We absolutely love it here (and so do our dogs). Couldn’t recommend the place highly enough.

Lovely park - we were in a 3 bed caravan near reception. Ideal for us as we were part of a wedding party who had all the lodges with the Pool. Very clean & nothing too much trouble.

As a family we have come to Durdle Door over many years. First small children and camping, now grandchildren and caravan.

It's a wonderful site and the staff are always very helpful and polite. A good crowd of hard working people.

This review I have really had to think about.

Sadly although we were booked to stay here for a week it never happened.

We originally booked to stay from Saturday to the following Saturday. Unfortunately due to unforseen weather the holiday was canceled. The only way I knew it was canceled was because I had to ring check otherwise we would never of known. After several emails and countless un answered phone calls I managed to re arrange to stay with them from the Tuesday to the Sunday. Problem solved... so we thought. We arrived on the Tuesday as planned after driving 6 hours with a baby and a toddler we were very pleased to see them.

This was until they told us "oh did we not get hold of you, I'm afraid we have had to close the park as we have no gas! You can't stay here I'm sorry" As you can imagine we were furious. They had known that the gas had been of for 24 hours and still no one contacted us to inform us.

But it does get better. They were very apologetic, and very quickly recertified the problem.

We stayed at the very beautiful wareham forest just a few minutes down the road. I cant recommend them enough. Obviously we were sad not to stay at Durdle door the views are breath taking and definitely something we were looking forward to.

Durdle door also very kindly gave us a full refund. So although their administrative and communication side of the business are very poor they are very quick to rectify all problems.

If we had the chance to stay there next time would we? YES but I will be ringing them before we set off to ensure they are definitely open.

Myself and my family stayed last weekend. We were really pleased to find such a lovely, pretty place to stay and it was a trip we had been looking forward to for some time now. I called ahead when looking at dates and spoke to a gentleman, who went through possible dates with me. We discussed this weekend and thought it was a good time to come. I'm afraid to say, I was so disappointed. It was clear we were a family with a young child and that we were looking for some peace and family time. I feel it was entirely necessary to be warned that Bestival was on that one and only weekend. Especially as it was clearly advertised in reception and there were public disturbance notices on the festival website. We were settling down to out first night in the camp, only to be bombarded with music so loud that we were kept awake for 2 nights, with a 5 year old child! It was so bad we spent the whole next day calling hotels because we couldn't face another night of torture. I have to say, we were so looking forward to our stay as it is something we were planning for some time and we are so sad that nobody warned us. The whole estate gets forwarning but we didn't! Such a shame.



Also the rooks were horrendous. I understand they cannot be helped, but definately not the place to go if you want quiet. They were deafening and started up about 4.30am.



Finally, the pub staff were increadibly rude. We went for breakfast. The staff were complaining quite loudly about the pub being left dirty after the previous night. Rather than cleaning it they just moaned and made it clear they would rather we weren't there. Very rude!

I was so looking forward to our stay. It is in such an outstandingly beautiful position. We have stayed here before and enjoyed it, despite the rooks. However, this time was unbelievable, the rooks were deafening, loud throughout the day, but horrendous in the early and late hours! We have come back home today, a day early because we just couldn't take the lack of sleep anymore.



The overall camping and touring area has definitely gone downhill. The pitches are neglected - with the hedges overgrown and full of nettles. We booked a fully serviced pitch, however, our hook up was situated in the next pitch, my husband had to get through a hole in the hedge to get to it and was stung by nettles. Initially, I didn't even think we had services and had to enquire at reception.



The bathroom facilities were not very clean, but this in some cases could be put down to parents not taking responsibility for their children. The toilets were often full of faeces, the toilet seats and walls covered.



Dogs were also a pain, barking and fighting. I went to the ladies this morning and a woman had a Jack Russell in the next cubicle, which decided to come under the dividing wall into mine!! That was the final straw!



The only facilities are a pub, (where we overheard the staff, a young girl, ridiculing some of the customers) a shop and the toilet block.



I feel this site lives off the location, especially for the tourers. I believe they make the most money selling statics, with the yearly fee and renting out statics. Any investment in the park seems to be spent in that direction!
