Campus life | At the University of Durham we have colleges, but what are they? Ali explains the collegiate system and what it means for students.
"Durham University is one of the rare universities that has a collegiate system. Which is similar to, for example, Oxford or Cambridge Universities. Your college is the accommodation where you live, but it's also one of the bodies of Durham University. It has its own motto, logo, badge, colours and library. You can represent your college in different ways, like in theatre or sports. If you succeed on a college level, you can then represent the whole University."
Thanks, Ali!

#MyDurhamFuture | Durham University provides students with colleges, communities of students who share their experience of university together. We think our students can explain it better than us, as that have now started life in their new colleges, so follow our Youtube series to find out more. bit.ly/Durham_ISC_College_experience

This term we held a Student Rep team building evening where all 12 of our Student Reps came together for a meal at Nandos and some bowling. The night was spent talking about how we can bring more of a presence to the student's voice, we also brainstormed ideas and listened to everyone’s feedback and opinions. #TeamDurham Student Reps - you are amazing!

Our Lead and Vice-Lead Student Representatives attended the Student Council meeting in Leicester this term with students from across the UK and Europe.
Phillips Roy and Omololu O.Ibhahulu did a fantastic job representing the student voice on behalf of all DUISC students, they even delivered a session on their action plan model and led a discussion on its possible roll out across the UK & Europe Student Reps network.
Well done, amazing achievement guys! ☺
