From small-scale to large-scale businesses, a considerable portion of their IT budgets is allocated to custom application development and maintenance. However, the growing trends of increased workforce mobility, outsourcing, and remote work lead to losses and the constant need to rediscover business knowledge concealed in data, source code, and documentation. Our platform allows users to collect requirements and hierarchically break them down all the way to the source code and documentation. This is a bi-directional and semi-automatic process in which changes at any level of the hierarchy result in suggested modifications at other levels. For instance, a manual change in the high-level description of a software component leads to suggestions for alterations at a more granular level of the description. If these changes are approved by an expert, the source code is modified accordingly, extending to unit tests and related documentation. We estimate that this approach will lead to a doubling of productivity for the existing workforce involved in the software development cycle.
