Considerable experience of school improvement, working at SLT level as a Senior Assistant Head and then as a Deputy Headteacher. Worked extensively with schools in challenging circumstances to effect improvement, having also worked with good and outstanding schools. Instrumental in turning around the results by over 25% in both schools that I have worked at as a Senior Leader. As a former Chair of the English Network and Educational adviser at the MAT where I was Deputy Head, I was instrumental in overseeing all 8 Secondary school's provision for English, with bespoke curriculum mapping in place. Successes lay with the year 11 English classes and the Year 11 cohort, conducting of whole cohort masterclasses and bespoke interventions. Whole school improvement to include leading and co-ordinating departmental deep dives and reviews, whole school teaching and learning and instructional coaching. I can offer training for a wide range of areas, as listed below. My areas of expertise comprise of the following: • Leadership development, including self-evaluation and action planning at both senior and middle leader level. • English and literacy expert• Developmental reviews and Deep Dives at departmental and whole school level. • Curriculum development. • Whole school teaching and learning – setting up PCK (pedagogy, content, and knowledge) reviews of curriculum • Work scrutiny to include marking and moderating of English scripts (AQA subject examiner for English literature and English language). • Support departments with delivering partnerships and peer reviews. • CPD and training – English Department, Safeguarding (I am a trained DSL). • Instructional coaching• English resource expert and bespoke tailor-made resources for individual schools. • Recruitment of teachers from South Africa (if the school has a license to apply for work permits).
