After a bye in the first round Silviu won his 2nd round contest 11 points to nil, at the European BJJ Championships. For anyone wishing to watch the rest of his group, they can switch on to mat 5 on Flo Grappling for the purple belt medium heavies.

Hard to believe there were just 40+ on the mat for our normal ne-waza class and almost 20 nutters for conditioning.... picture 1: end of the night, picture 2: the conditioning class nutters crowding round the ‘circuit board’ to see what awaits them. Brilliant work from all.

This is important and necessary and Jess knows her stuff through being at national/international level in no less than 3 sports: gymnastics, Judo and weightlifting. Improve your knowledge and give yourself and or your students a longer life in sport.

How did that happen?!!!! In just a shade under 2 and a half years Silviu has gone from white belt to black, competing all the way up to the European Masters. He has a British Masters title and numerous medals at domestic ranking events and international tournaments. Nastasa Silviu Georgian’s dedication to training, the lifestyle and progress is quite remarkable and we all send our heartiest congratulations. #SuperProudCoach

This is Anoop. She has a red belt now because she works hard and wants to compete and grade. Anoop is happy with her new red belt. Be like Anoop.

Let’s be filling the mats tonight. First Thursday night randori of 2019.... can’t wait!

Great work from Koda and the rest of the British women out in Austria at the Mittersill Training Camp. Over 1000 judoka arrived there to kick start their year.

User

We would like to thank Kim Tilley for coming along to help us with some gradings this evening. Congratulations to everyone who passed. Sorry there aren’t any pictures. The mat was rammed, with lessons running alongside gradings, so busy that there wasn’t time to think about photos!

The many roles of coaches and volunteers! Today I’m in a launderette washing and drying 40 judo suits from the club, used to lend to newcomers or those who forget items of kit. Big job! It’s quite peaceful in here though....

Conditioning time! Enjoy, people, enjoy...

That’s it, first trip of the year done and dusted. Finished off with mussels and chips at the beach. All normal club sessions open from tomorrow. See you there.

This is a perfect Sunday morning! Koksijde training camp with teams from France, Luxembourg, Germany, Netherlands & Ireland. Randori, mussels and chips, then home! Whatever your Sunday brings, make your Mighty!

User

After a very long day the team has competed twice and are now looking forward to more randori in Koksijde tomorrow. The evening international ne-waza tournament offered an excellent experience for all and yielded some trophies to boot.
GOLD Elena Bob GOLD Amaury Genevee GOLD Silviu Nastasa... BRONZE Baptiste Genevee BRONZE Ben Westcott
We had an extra touch of special too, with the Genevee brothers being here together. Amaury trained with us for a year in 2017 while living in London, away from his native France. He came today from his home town and met us here, with us arriving with twin brother Baptiste, who is now with us in London.
