About Ealing Parent Carer Forum

A community forum for parents and carers of disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 25 who live in Ealing.

Ealing Parent Carer Forum Description

We work together to try and make life better for us and our children by:
Giving families an opportunity to share and learn from experiences.
Supporting families to access information about their rights.
Working with service providers to develop new services and review the effectiveness
of what they are providing now.
Promoting parents as experts.
Supporting families to advocate for themselves and their children effectively.

What are our Core Beliefs?

We believe that Carers Are Real Experts when it comes to their children’s needs.
We believe that our children will receive better services if parent carers work together
with providers to design services.
We believe that families needs are more likely to be met if parent carers have a clear
and united voice.

What are our Aims?

To represent the views, aspirations and challenges faced by parent carers in Ealing and their families to service providers.
To use parent and carers expert knowledge about the strengths and weaknesses of the services used by their families to influence positive change.
To support parent carers to feel confident representing themselves and their families needs in a positive and constructive manner.
