I am a qualified Teacher and have worked with young children for the past 12 years. I have taught a range of children with differing needs and abilities in both state and private schools. Since having my own two children and struggling to find affordable childcare with someone I trust, that knows the importance of Early years Care, lead me to leave teaching and set up Early Explorers Childminding.
I am Ofsted registered with up to date qualifications and my Husband and I are DBS checked. Our home has a lovely, warm feel to it and is clean and smoke free. Here at Early Explorers I am sure that you will feel confident that your child receives high quality childcare in a caring and friendly environment. Since working with children in Sweden I have found myself to be passionate about delivering exciting activities that captures children’s imagination. My personal philosophy of how children learn is one that is heavily influenced by the Swedish Model and I have a passion for using the outdoors as a learning space. It is my belief that as a Childminder I am there to support children’s thinking and nurture their creativity, with an open mind. I respect all children’s ideas and encourage them to contribute to the environment, from topics, to activities, to how the house looks. Flexibility is another key aspect of childminding that I am more than comfortable and confident with. When activities are not progressing the way that I would like, I am able to take another direction based on the children’s responses so that all children remain motivated and are able to reach their full potential.
We are close to Frickley Nature Reserve where we can enjoy regular walks together and get out in the fresh air. I also offer free childcare for 2 -4 year olds subject to eligibility and availability.

🎉🎉DEAR PARENTS.....You will be pleased to know that we have more CHILDCARE spaces for all ages in the NEW YEAR!🎉🎉
After lots of enquiries and turning so many families away, we will be trialling longer opening hours all week due to our new space and a much needed helping hand from my Husband, Ainsley, who will be fully qualified and Ofsted registered to work with me in the New Year!😁We have decided to finally open our homely setting to the older children (18 months -10 years) ...throughout the year, including term time, for nursery and school drop offs and pick-ups.The under 5’s can be cared for without disturbing their play and learning this way. We are hoping that this will give parents more options and flexibility with their childcare (especially with siblings and the 30 hours free childcare) as we can collect your children from other nurseries in our car. ALL our children will continue to have outstanding and high quality childcare. Even with increasing our numbers, together our ratios can exceed no more than 6 children each (3 of which can be under 5’s) so spaces are limited. Parents and Carers are welcome to enquire about childcare availability for the New Year.🎉🎊

My child has just started with Karla and she absoloutley loves it! She is excited to go and can't wait to get in the car� Karla is excellent with the children and is very organised with the days activities. I feel very lucky to have found such a loving , caring and professional child minder.
Karla is amazing. Yes shes my best friend but she also looks after my boys for me when i need extra childcare. Shes fantastic, caring and my boys love her. Her home is a safe, friendly environment. I definately recommend karlas service xxx
Karla Fullwood provides an extremely professional and attentive childminding service for young children. she is calm, kind, incredibly patient and a caring person that is also creative and fun. She is very communicative to parents and flexible with hours. I would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a childminder for their child.
