Today we hosted a River Fly workshop with the River Waveney Trust. This citizen science project will enable people to monitor the health of the River Waveney.

This morning our Suffolk Punch Horses, Alfie & Yale were wearing Purple Poppies to remember all of the fallen war horses and particularly the Suffolk Horses who's strength and good temperament made them an essential part of the war effort.

Raven our Hebridean Ram is up on the lawn this morning.

Now that we have entered the winter period, the site starts to get wet and muddy. We will therefore close the scrapes area, the cafe and main lawn remain open with the deer and waterfowl. Visitors will still be able to see the Suffolk Punch Horses and Bagot Goats, but the sheep have moved across to our Dickleburgh site and all of the poultry will move into the stables for the winter.

User

Look out for our Halloween Goats, they've been climbing the trees and if you stand underneath them you might get a nasty surprise.

Another beautiful day in the Waveney Valley.

User

John's been out to visit the residents of Culrose Residential Care Home in Dickleburgh this afternoon. Culrose is opposite our Dickleburgh nature reserve and we hope that in the years ahead we can work with the staff to make the reserve accessible for the residents.

User

We already have a queue to get in this morning!

User

Our herd of Bagot Goats has been happily munching back the clumps of watercress along the riverbank. It's the breeding season and our billy goats have been a bit smelly for the past few weeks as they start fight for the attention of the nannies.

It was a misty start to the day at our Dickleburgh Moor Nature Reserve.

User

We had lots of Small Copper butterflies at Earsham today. These exquisite little insects seem to become more mobile just before we get the first frost.

User

Our Bagot Goats were on the march this evening. They were being serenaded by our Whooper Swans and we think they were heading off to the other end of the site to join the rest of the herd.

User

It's a bright sunny morning here at Earsham.

User

We have some Norfolk Grey chicks hatching today. This hen always nests in the courtyard as she is usually safe from predators. Unfortunatly a Mink recently killed a pigeon in the aviary, so tomorrow we will move this family across to the stables. We have been shutting the pigeons and bantams inside at night to protect them from further attacks.

User

At our Dickleburgh Moor Nature Reserve our Suffolk Punch Horses Comet and Ufford (below) were looking particularly splendid today.

User

It's bright and sunny at Earsham this morning and our animals are just finishing breakfast.

User

We had a lovely day today, we very much enjoyed having a picnic with swans and geese and even deers sitting close by. My daughter loved the deers she kept cuddling them. Would highly recommend for a nice picnic or just an afternoon visit! It's also free entry but we left a small donation as I'm sure it's much appreciated

User

Visited yesterday and was enchanted by the place; small but perfectly formed!

We were just 2 adults but it’s obviously a great place for children too. We particularly liked watching them feeding the deer which came into the picnic area.

Also enjoyed talking to the owner

about his future plans and his work abroad.

Visited with family of various ages on Sunday and had an amazing time, what a lovely find this place is ! Animals were gorgeous, all so tame and friendly. Deers that loved posing for pictures with my family and a goat relaxing on a bench that was more than happy to share it with my nephew whilst having a cuddle also saw a young deer happy to let some children give him his bottle of milk :) My favourite was curly pigeons, whoever knew pigeons could have bad hair days as well as me lol Will definitely be visiting again very soon, cant wait !

Loddon Rainbows had a brilliant evening last week, with a guided tour round the centre. They got to meet all the animals and learnt a lot of facts about the animals. A thoroughly relaxed and fun hour enjoyed by both the girls and adults! Thank you Michael...

User

User

Great place to visit (for everyone) fantastic picnic area, take your own or make use of the cafe. Good clean loos. Sit amongst well behaved animals, and soak up there natural environment. Whilst this is Free to get in, It is a charity and therefore relies heavily on donations, to which there is a discreet box on the counter. The gift shop is small, but very well stocked with associated product.

Note: Not fully open (yet) as this is a fairly new venture, it is a wildlife haven not a theme park!

If you love animals and nature you will not be disappointed. If you want bright lights, rides and fast pace (pop in for half an hour) and then carry on to Great Yarmouth. 5 star place not to be missed.

User

First visit today and we loved it! We will definitely be coming back once the lake is opened. We are so lucky to have places like this just a few miles away from home, it's perfect for family days. I will be telling all our family and friends to visit and good luck with your future projects here in the UK and Africa.

User

First of many visits to come we had a lovely few hours here a very nice and friendly place staff and animals were all lovely and inexpensive which left us more for a donation

Fantastic place, so close to nature, it was very hot today but plenty of shade we had a lovely picnic surrounded by beautiful wildlife. The deer is amazing and very tame the the horses were gorgeous. A lovely family day out, please keep it as it is a still unspoilt, a hidden treasure! Would be a shame if it closed as they rely on donations, its definetly worth a visit for everyone all ages.

User
