Easirent Stansted..... First of all I ordered a car through Ryanair and when I was waiting for a flight I red the reviews. I was shocked and fearful that we wouldn't get a car or money back.... At the beginning we get in touch with a young man who wasn't smiling but he was nice and helpful. He offered us 3 different options of insurance, so read about them before you go and you are not the best in english. I had my own so I decided for nothing. We've got a quite new car with 12000 km. One for light was broken so we wrote it to the papers... They took the deposit and also fuel deposit. I HAD TO USE TWO DIFFERENT CARDS one for car deposit and second (debit cars) for fuel deposit ... Everything was smooth and quite quick.. No waiting or problems..... After 5 day we brought the car back... They immediately checked the car and we sign just paper and we were free.. Their microbus took us to the airport. I got fuel deposit in two days and car deposit in 8 days. I am truly happy with Stansted Easirent... I know that other easirent car hires do some tricky stuff so I was really scared but the Stansted one is brilliant.

Booked this car for an elderly relative through economy bookings. He had never hired a car before. I paid £60 up front and he had to pay remaining £34.32 at desk. He waited at the desk a long time, as everyone argued they were forced to pay for more insurance, my relative no exception. I had already paid for insurance. They gave him a car he didn't order and the offered him a sat nav without stipulating on any extra costs. They charged £95 on his card for petrol deposit, which is yet to be returned, and then another charge of £360?? The car was returned on time without fault. I contacted them, they said someone would ring me back, they didn't. My relative had to call from another country to be told that there's no record of the booking and the charges were for the car, so my money and his is lost. They had all his details on the night though for the car. I contacted their customer services to be told there's no booking, so someone has deleted it, no other explanation. I've contacted economy bookings who I booked through, but you can only complain by email, which can take 30 days! NEVER use this company unless you are happy to be robbed blind. This is not the end of this, I won't stop till you're finished.

Just rented from this company and on returning the car they found a tiny chip on the front bumper for which they have charged me £235. This seemed disproportionately large for a tiny mark like this - see photo. The damage was so small that I can't even say whether it was there or not on collection. Their prices appear to be low, arguable too low, until you are greeted with the option of a premium to cover insurance excess that is many times the daily rental rate. I drive carefully and declined it which left me open to this sort of practice. I will not use them again. Judge for yourself - it's the tiny chip to the right of the light.

Wow!!! I have never experienced something like this before.
I was picked up 45 min delayed from Stansted airport. Around midnight, luckily they didn't close yet. The driver was unfriendly and couldn't speak more than 10 words a common language. The station is too far away from the airport, 15 min drive.
If you don't have £1,500 on your credit card, the fees are really high.
After returning the car I was pushed to give "Copy, Copy". There was no sufficient light to check car. So I left my sunglasses. All my requests for checking my sunglasses remain unanswered, although I offered prepayment for delivery.
Never again!

Just rented from this company and on returning the car they found a tiny chip on the front bumper for which they have charged me £235. This is the type of damage so minor that it would be either not even noticed, or if so ignored by every other of the many rental car companies I have ever used. The chip to the lacquer was approx 1x0.5cm. Their prices are low until you get stitched up with this kind of practice. I will not use them again.

From the other Google reviews of this company i was expecting a bad experience, i was pleasantly surprised.

The Staff were friendly and the car i was supplied was in excellent condition, i had no troubles whatsoever with easirent and i will be hiring again from this location.

word of advice: always read the fineprint with rental car companies and pay attention to what you've paid for, and you wont have any issues.

Great experience all round. I've had some awful car rental experiences in the past but this was overwhelmingly positive so I just wanted to leave a recommendation. Great prices, nice car, a high spec 2017 Ford Focus for about £10 per day, friendly and cooperative staff. We weren't entirely organised upon arrival and they made everything as easy as possible for us. Will definitely use again!

Fraude, no other words fit this car rental company. We booked a rental car by Happy Car including insurance. After picking up the car in the middle of nowhere Easirent told that the car was not insured. So we had to pay GBP 147 additional for insurance. After checking with Happy Car we heard that the car really was insured. Money back? NO WAY! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER rent a car with Easirent!!!! Yes, we should have known better (all the review sites) but made this fault. So if you want a honest car rental company never go to Easirent!

Worst rent a car company I've ever dealt with. Loads of hidden fees and barely anyone speaks English good enough to be able to explain what is wrong. Avoid at all costs

You get what you pay for. The hire charge is a loss-leader to attract people in, and they expect to make a profit by up-selling : insurance, fuel charges, high damage charges, whatever. Be on your guard.

Like most Stansted car hire there's a transfer to the car pound, but this is further out and by a car you need to call for, not the regular shuttle bus service. The drivers are friendly enough, though, once they finally arrive. At the pound the facilities are pretty basic - a portacabin, cars parked on the verge, and the pre-hire inspection is by torchlight! The staff are equally basic. Smiling is extra. The customer experience is "service with a snarl", from people who are gruff face-to-face and incomprehensible on the phone.

On the plus side, we paid just £17.27 for a 48-hour hire of their most basic model, which was cheap. Better still we actually got a new Fiesta 5-door at no extra cost, which was lovely. That's it for the plus side.

The downsides were
- taking an hour from stepping out of the terminal to driving away in a car
- an unexpected £1250 pre-authorization on a credit card being required
- the ridiculous insurance excesses and punitive damage waiver charges
- the grumpy staff
- a random request to see (and then keep) my receipt from re-fuelling at the BP next door on return
- a lingering doubt about what other transactions might appear on the cards used.

We toughed it out, could handle the expensive pre-auth, refused all the offered insurance, and took extra care with the car by parking in the empty further reaches of car-parks to prevent dings and scratches. For that we got a bargain, but it wasn't worth it. Next time I'll renting from a well-known company with some reputation at stake, and won't grudge the extra one bit.

Last week I booked a car for one day online on rentalcars.com without knowing about the bad reviews of easirent. Because of what people write here, I went there being prepared to get confronted with shady insurance offers and what-not, but it was an okay experience.

- Airport pick-up has to be arranged by calling them. Took 15-20 min waiting time
- Documents needed from the driver: Credit card, Passport, Driver's license. From the 2nd driver: Driver's license
- I did have to take an insurance there. There was a list ranging from 0£ to about 25£, the higher the amount you took, the less excess you would have. I didn't understand why I couldn't take the 0£ with 35.000£ excess, she said something about I am not Britain or so. The next level was 10£ with 1.250£ excess, which I took. They pre-authed my Amex with 1.250£, and is not shown anymore on my card. But I also see no 10£ charge on my card. Maybe they forgot.
- Car looked clean and without flaws. Only 4k miles shown
- When returning the car we had to wait 15-20 min, and there were no problems. We were transported back to the airport.

1 star deduction for waiting time for the pick-up and the impossibility to not pick an insurance.
