East Anglia Alpaca Mill, Alpacas Of East Anglia & Exclusively Alpaca Shop Description

Processors of top quality alpaca yarn from raw fibre. As breeders of quality alpacas we understand your processing dilemmas too. We have unique, bespoke machinery with which to process your fibre which to date has helped us win numerous awards and recognition for our processing. We also run 'All About Fibre' workshops in April & October each year = please see our website for current processing costs and course dates.

& NEW East Anglia Fibre processing Mill - bespoke machinery for your alpaca fleeces. Would you send your Ferrari to a Ford garage? I doubt it - our thoughts too! So we designed, re-built and adapted machinery for alpaca and only alpaca. We do not blend any other fibres with alpaca - it does not need it!
'Proof is in the Processing', consistently winning ribbons for our Mill spun huacaya and suri.

Spent most of today preparing this first fleece for processing. Had a degree of VM in it but now free of all VM and ready to process into 2 ply ready for Worstead Festival in July (unless it sells before)! Fleece generously grown by Isotope, dam Honeyfield Tickety-Boo, Sire AEA Atom.

Complete mixed bag of weather here in Norfolk for the bank holiday. One day beautiful blue skies & sun, another day overcast & just as warm with heavy showers and today has been much the same. Grass is so long we are having to top already and may get a chance to spray off those remaining paddocks. Best of all our youngest family member visited the shop and made friends with Tilly dog.

Just a chillin’ not too far from the water trough!

Feeling accomplished; all (skirted on the day) fleeces weighed in and now in their cage awaiting batching for processing. Delighted with our fleeces this year, some big but fine fleeces with great uniformity. We have a lot of lovely fleeces which we will turn in to an assortment of different & special yarns, some for me to ‘create’ with!

Our alpaca fibre harvesting aka shearing is complete! All are naked and we are keeping a close eye on them and the weather. All have access to their respective polytunnels and ate looking in great condition. All fleeces were skirted as they came off and have now been weighed in too and added to our database. Some will be available for sale, most will be processed to yarns.
Huge thanks to shearer Nigel, Wade and our band of merry helpers!

Great to work with Paul Vallely again - too long since we did the last training together! Brilliant day had by all. Next training day in the pipeline already!

One of our lovely clients posted this review: 'Being a Newbie with my first ever precious fleeces, Emma and Chris made me so welcome and comfortable. They both took pains to share their knowledge and passion for this amazing enterprise that is exactly what anyone with the unique product that is Alpaca Fleece needs for processing it into heavenly yarn. Their service is exceptional. Therefore it is thorough and time consuming resulting in a quality product. So excited to see and feel the finished product that started out as 6 fleeces from 6 gorgeous Suris!!!''

With shearing almost upon our herd we ate hoping for some warmer weather next week. We have had torrential rain which has been very welcome but there is a very cold wind still. We are extremely busy in the mill with people wanting to clear space for this years clip. I would like to dispel one myth - if your fibre has been stored correctly for several years it remains perfectly useable so please don’t despair or dispose of it! We have recently processed fibre which was sheared 7 years ago, with no problem. Do get onto the waiting list (without obligation) as lead times are increasing.
