These guys are wonderful whether they are regular force or community volunteers . It's not their fault that funding has been cut beyond belief and that there is not enough resources to attend to every reported incident. They have to prioritise and that is a hard job to do deciding who deserves their time and attention above someone else who probably thinks their complaint is priority. The force is in a shambles and I take my hat off to the men and woman who despite everything they have to put up with , ( lack of support, abuse from the general public , long hours and actually not that great pay!) still get out there every day and night trying to do a job with their hands tied but are still passionate about .

So just take some time out to think about what this job entails before rating 1* and moaning how ineffectual they are.

Ok rant over !

Some people, especially the elderly vulnerable, need to be reminded - often of doorstep crime.

All they have to remember is to say is: "Sorry, I don't buy anything at the door.I must go now - thank you - goodbye."

For the ones that telephone just say: "Sorry, I don't sign up or agree to buy anything over the phone.Thank you - goodbye!"

DO NOT get drawn into a conversation about alternatives.

My team and I work closely with the police officers and PCSOs from Wimborne and they are the most helpful, professional and approachable team of people. I can not rate them highly enough for the outstanding work they do.

I hear nothing but great things about the police officers and PCSOs who work within this team. A great friend of mine manages a supported housing project within the town and she often praises the help, support and commitment she receives from everyone. I visit Wimborne regularly, particularly in the summer months, and have never had cause to feel unsafe. There is always a good police presence during event weekends too.

Great friendly bunch....glad to know they are keeping the local area safe. I hope we don't loose this public service ...we need our girls and boys on the beat.
