It was #zerowasteweek last week so we thought we'd share 10 little things we do to help reduce our waste and environmental impact. 🌍
1. Most of the organic fruit & vegetables we use are grown locally & come with zero single use plastics 🍠 2. Most of the organic grains, peas, beans & pulses we use are grown in the UK and come with zero single use plastics. 🌾 3. We ditched the paper towels and blue roll. Cloths, tea towels and hand towels work just as well! 🧤... 4. We make our own cheese, using the waste milk from making your flat whites and lattes. 🧀 5. All of our house wines come in keg, boxes and bags. Reducing the carbon emissions produced by transporting heavy glass bottles by around 30%. 🥂 6. The candles we burn are made from UK rapeseed oil. No paraffin, soy or palm oil. 🔥 7. We provided safe and secure, indoor bike parking to encourage our staff and customers to cycle. 🚴 8. We use a bike courier for local deliveries and collections. 🚚 9. We use a non toxic, bleach free, line cleaner to clean our beer lines. We make vinegar using the waste beer produced and with any wines that have past their best. 🍻 10. We pickle & preserve what we can. Any surplus vegetables, fruit or anything we don't think we'll use before it's best is preserved, pickled, turned into kimchi, kraut, jams and cordials. 🥒
A little late to the party maybe, but hey 🤷, we think it should be zero waste week EVERY WEEK!

We know #zerowaste shopping can be a bit of a pain and there's a lot to be said for the convenience of pre packaged goods, so we've been saving up loads of glass jars and various other vessels so we can do the hard work for you. We'll be pre packaging all of our dried goods, in recycled vessels, so you can just pick them up off the shelves and take them home without having to get the scales out!
