Ed Film, Animation And Media Production - Plymouth College Of Art

This television and film course is a production focused experience is designed for emerging filmmakers, directors, producers, animators.

UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Film, Animation and Media Production, at Plymouth College of Art. This course has a minimum entry requirement of 4 GCSE C grades.

If you have ambition to become a filmmaker, director, producer, animator, VFX artist, freelance content producer, camera operator, cinematographer or broadcaster, this course will let you take a big step towards this career ambition by spending two years in one of the region’s best equipped teaching departments.

We will help you to explore the spectrum of skills associated with creative media production. We will give you the confidence to plan, develop and produce dynamic and thought provoking film, video and animation, and, in doing so, encourage you to work closely with other art, design and media disciplines.

Sessions cover music video production, documentary, single camera drama, animation production (stop motion and 2D), soundtrack, scriptwriting and story development, technical skills (including lighting, editing and camera work), critical and theoretical understanding, planning and organisational skills.

Our ever evolving strong links with industry will allow you to gain first hand experience of working with clients. This year, we made 10 documentary films for clients such as Plymouth Argyle, Plymouth Raiders, Maker, Chaz Singh, Fotonow, START (students and refugees together) and others. Our students have the incredible opportunity to work on a YouTube channel commissioned by Janie Grace, former Nickelodeon managing director.

Our visiting lecturer programme includes practicing artists, film-makers and animators so you will be instantly connected to the sector. Upon completion of the course you will be equipped to progress to an undergraduate degree programme at Plymouth College of Art or other Colleges and Universities.
