Happy #WorldChocolateDay! 🍫
These funny looking things may not look sweet and delicious, but the large pods contain cacao (or ‘cocoa’) beans. When crushed, the beans yield cocoa mass - the basis of chocolate.
Here are some of the many varieties we've grown in the Rainforest Biome over the years.

Our second titan arum of the year is now in bloom in the Rainforest Biome! Come and see and smell it tomorrow! 👃
Titan arums (Amorphophallus titanum) are among the largest flowering structures on the planet, can take up to nine years to flower, and only open up for 48 hours. They also go by the name of 'corpse flower', as they omit an overwhelming stench of rotting flesh.

Join us for this outdoor play club for families running through the summer holidays.
TUESDAYS 7 & 21 AUGUST: THE FIRE CARRIERS A morning of outdoor challenge, craft and creativity for families to enjoy together – followed by a leisurely lunchtime by the fire. The activities are ideal for kids aged up to 14 years, however all are welcome.
... Inspired by an original story, you’ll work together to build the skills needed to work safely with fire. We’ll need to use nature’s riches to create light, warmth and food to make ourselves comfortable in the Cornish Wilds! We’ll light fires using matches and flint and steel, craft lamps and make charcoal. And finally we’ll make and bake bread together around the campfire whilst listening to the story’s end.
TUESDAY 14 AUGUST: NATURAL DETECTIVES Using all our senses we’ll go on an adventure into hidden worlds. You’ll discover secrets in Eden’s woods, fields and hedgerows by looking and then looking again at what is going on beneath our feet. With sensory activities, games and craft we’ll aim to see the living world and all its beauty in new ways. After a morning of exploration and investigation, we’ll relax by the fire with campfire snacks and refreshments for all.
BOOK YOUR PLACE ONLINE Taking part costs from £30 per family. Book your place via our website at www.edenproject.com/wild-summer

We've sent pollen from the titan arum flower that bloomed here last weekend to Bonn University Botanic Garden in Germany, which they'll use to pollinate their titan flowers.

The Eden Project is an ethereal den of enchanted neverland. I am immersing myself in its rainforest canopies and authentic splendour on as many occasions as possible. It’s entire array of enchantment is so beautifully created and its ethos is so stunningly kind. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We went on Tuesday, me my partner and one year old Granddaughter. She enjoyed looking at the plants etc and a bonus when a few of the birds stood fairly close to us. We enjoyed our meal we had there, it was very tasty. Yes entrance fee maybe a little pricey but then we spent a good 4 hours there.

User

We visit Eden and 4-5 times per year and it's always well worth the trip. Each time brings something new as the site undergoes regular(ish) change. It's a great place to see some amazing plants, learn about ecology, environmentalism and sometimes, agritech.

User

We have been to the eden project today and were very impressed. Loved the way it is build and looks like a great place for kids. The staff was very friendly and the guy in the restaurant made us a great cappuccino.we always have a great holiday in england but the eden project makes it a little bit more special 😀👍

My other half and I went on the 20th June. Can't wait to go again! I didn't enjoy the "core" but I guess that's just personal preference and I'm somewhat of a know-it-all.

Wanted to visit here for YEARS and wasn't disappointed one bit! In fact hoping to come back same time (or a bit earlier) next year to use our annual pass <3

Would love if you had an insect/butterfly area, that would be amazing!

See you all soon!

User

Magical & marvellous place to learn about different environments. My son Freddie knows of biomes via Minecraft but we both enjoyed the cloud generation in the rain forest biome. We didn’t spend much time in the Mediterranean biome but the core was incredible. What a wild difference to the original state of that quarry but maybe there’ll be some other biomes in the future. Definitely a place to visit which we plan on returning to this Saturday for the space exhibition. Thank you all

I’m autistic and I was having a panic attack in the gift shop. The young lady member of staff was truly amazing. She went to get what I wanted them buy for the girls, and then led me out through a quiet exit to get back to my family. With such kind, caring, patient, understanding staff I have no qualms with awarding 5* to this review. I’m in awe of the lengths this young lady went for me esp on such a busy day. Thank you

User

Had a lovely trip today at Eden today. Usually taking my disabled daughter to places is trouble as not everything is completely assessable or you feel like your causing trouble asking for special access and don't even get me started on changing facilities!!! But at Eden it was excellent, even the tractor ride to the top was executed perfectly the staff locked her wheelchair down safely and she had a lovely ride and I'm so pleased to finally see a fully accessible fully equipped disabled toilet. Was a wonderful day and will look forward to visiting again.

User

Great day out, value for money, full of things to do and to see. Did the Hang-loose (amazing zip wire experience ). Food offer very healthy and appetizing most of it cooked in front on you 😋 good value

EDEN project can be for any young and old , enjoy as we did

User

Brilliant exhibition this week and great selection of activities. My son hasn't stopped talking about it, the last few hours. So impressed with the updated Core. We come regularly but this surpassed all other visits. So lucky to have this in our part of the country ♥

User

Absolutely loved it. Got a parking place straight away and walked down. Didn’t have to queue at all, we were seen straight away. I have been there twice before when I was younger, but everything seemed to have BLOOMED even more. The whole view of the domes looked amazing. The rainforest part was my favourite, it was breath-taking. was just so exotic and felt like you were really in the rainforest. And so much information and facts everywhere, so definitely a learning experience too. Amazing scenes and views to take photos of too. And got a free pass to go next time. Definitely going again! (This place isn’t for people who don’t like walking, it’s a lot of walking! But it is definitely worth it! I was just so mesmerised looking at everything I didn’t really noticed.....until the next day when my legs were aching) but like I said...worth it

User

The whole site is amazing except for the food halls. In all honesty, the rice sucked, just dry bland rice with the word ‘wholegrain’ thrown in to make it sound fancy.

User

Had a lovely day here today using our Local’s Pass...the new exhibition is amazing..would have given five stars if it hadn’t been for the amount of people smoking on site and sitting next to us at lunch (outside)

User

An interesting place to visit while you are down this way on holiday but would only visit once a year. The entrance fee is high as everyone has said but it’s in line with all other attractions like this. The food we had was very good and I thought a reasonable price. There was a lot of dance groups around when we went so it seems a good place for community.

User

What has been done here is without doubt a magnificent achievement for what was a very audacious project. However, it is rather expensive to get in and I did find the mars experience a waste of time. The "Core" could be put to better use, such as an educational center perhaps that teaches visitors what our plants can be used for, clothing, medicine etc. Rather than a bunch of photoshopped images of planets.

Why not create a bee Garden and sell Eden Project Honey...??

I am sure scientists and botanist make great use of the project but there was definitely disappointment from the public. Food was OK and reasonably priced, I guess for a tourist attraction.

Would I go again, no. Would I recommend it, yes, if the price was half its current £27.50 per person

User

Very expensive - I'd anticipated visiting the place, not buying it!

They tried to convince me that 'free access for a year' adds value ...but for someone who lives 299 miles away (thanks google) ...it doesn't ....not even in the slightest.

In terms of what it offers. it's an interesting place to visit from time to time ....but not interesting enough to visit multiple times in a year.

User

Had a nice day out visiting last week however a couple of things were disappointing. The Core was closed to the general public which I've now found on your website but it wasn't clear at the time and there we so many school trips taking place. I love the fact that children are learning about the environment however some of them were just running around and pushing past other visitors especially in the domes (and on the bridges). I felt quite bad for some of the elderly visitors. Overall a nice visit though and the plants are breath taking.

User

Excellent day with my granddaughter on the whole - Easter activities were fun and run well by happy staff. My gripe is with the catering. They offer some vegan options IE pasties, wraps and some hot meals and soya milk for drinks but I couldn't find one vegan cake anywhere. One of the staff said she was more than embarrassed to not have any to offer me but the flapjack supplier had been changed - used to be vegan and now it's not ?!*!?* How absolutely crazy especially in such a supposedly ethical venue and also with the huge rise in veganism in the last year or so. Also I do think it's quite a pricey entrance fee unless you have a locals pass - with a pass it's brilliant value.

User

Visited earlier this year and was very disappointed. So much more could be done with this place, very bare beds and displays outdoors, not much diversity inside the domes either. It was also not made clear online or on arrival that the Core dome was closed. But my main issue was with the lack of vegan/plant based foods especially for somewhere with such a large influx of visitors. All in all only spent a couple of hours here including a lunch break. Not worth the entrance fee.
