🙏🏻HELP WANTED PLEASE 🙏🏻 We are enhancing our wonderful dressing up area in our Lower Toddler Room. We want to move away from traditional ‘dressing up outfits’ to allow our children to create, enhance and extend their imagination - but we need your help! We have raided the charity shops, our own wardrobes and our families but still need some more items.
❓Can you help us ❓ Have you any bags, scarves, hats, shoes or other items that when you were small you would have love to g...et dressed up in? Our children would love to put them to good use, explore them and create their games in them. So if you have any Grandpa’s hats, Feather boas, Daddy’s ties or Mummy high sparkly shoes or anything else that you could donate to us for the children we would appreciate them! 👞🎩👛👜👠

We've had another lovely session at Walshaw Hall & The Beeches Care Home. Today the children took a jigsaw or game from home to share with the residents as well as some Lego from nursery. We were waiting a while for our taxis so Jean told us a story about being the boss at her school!!

We've had some caterpillars at nursery. The upper toddlers have loved watching them and reading 'the hungry caterpillar'. They have recently made their cocoons and have been transferred to the butterfly net. The Uppers eagerly await for them to change into butterflies!

Thank you to Ava's mummy for giving us some footballs! Preschool loved pumping them up his morning! ⚽️⚽️

We've had a lovely morning at Walshaw Hall & The Beeches Care Home. First we drew pictures with our friends. Jean made us a lovely picture of a boat sailing on the sea and taught us how to draw a boat! After we had drawn we had a nosey around, introducing ourselves to the residents. 💞

Oh how much fun we can have with a cardboard box! I'm sure you have noticed our recent furniture delivery. We've got new storage in reception and the office. Both craft rooms have new drying racks to dry your little ones artwork and the over twos have a new sand tray. The boxes provided hours of entertainment and learning. Uppers counted how many children they could fit in the box. Lowers played peekaboo and made a den and Preschool worked together to construct a fort with the cardboard, problem solving along the way!

Yesterday our Preschool children enjoyed their first Balanceability session with James!

Don't forget children are invited to come to nursery tomorrow dressed as knights, dragons, princesses or in red and white!

A huge "Thank You" to everyone who donated an Easter egg to Fortalice Women's and Children's refuge. We collection over 30 eggs for them and they will be using them for an Easter egg hunt. 🤗😍💖

Preschool found other ways of using plant pots outside....they played a game, taking turns to throw the ball into the bucket, cheering on their friends when they scored!! They also made a bus. You weren't allowed on the bus without a ticket though! Preschool extended their planting and growing by investigating vegetables. They used all their senses to investigate and used knives to chop the vegetables. Some were easier to chop than others!! The children compared the vegetables and talked about what they could see and smell!

Lowers Toddlers have enjoyed building on a large scale outside, cooperating with their peers. They have planted seeds and learnt about what they need to grow. They have enjoyed their Toddler Moves sessions with our new equipment and used their mathematical skills and their social skills to do some baking!

While the cats been away, the mice have continued their play! Prepare to be bombarded with posts ......... The week beginning the 1st April we were planting and growing! Preschool worked as a team to build a structure with plant pots, problem solving together along the way. They also had great fun in the mud kitchen, cooking up a storm!

Our Minis had fun washing the babies during water play. Water is a natural material that provides a multitude of wonderful development and benefits to children. Water play is emotionally therapeutic for children. It helps to develop their motor kills, social skills and broaden their language and communication. It also stimulates creativity and imagination. So next time your little ones won't get out of the bath.....you can let them have 5 more minutes of learning!!! Happy splashing! 🐳💦💧
