Very busy night and flat out this morning, 3 artics went over at the same time on the A66 Brough last night and 1 more on the M6 in Cumbria this morning. We are working as fast as we can to clear the roads but you may have noticed it's a bit breezy out today!

User

We are out at the multiple pile up on the M6 involving 5 artics and a Bus. Our thoughts go out to those that are injured. Please bear with us we are working as fast as we can to clear the road but it is going to take some time.

Hi all, dont forget that you need to prepare for driving in hot conditions as well as cold ones. Carry spare water and some food if travelling a long way and make sure that tyres are at the right pressure. Being stuck in traffic for any length of time can be a real pain.

User

In Beverley today visiting new clients and agents. Busy place much busier than I expected lots of businesses with large fleets!

User

Serious collision on the A66 this morning, our guys still on scene along with all emergency services. Our thoughts go out to the people who have lost loved ones and to those that are injured. Sad sad day in Cumbria.

User

Would like to thank you all for the excellent service from start to finish . The control room Kept me updated regards ETA , the tech turned up straight away and did a thoroughly professional job and was so quick . Can't thank the tech and yourselves enough for getting my car sorted so quickly .

Want to say how grateful I am to the man who stopped to help me & my family today after we got a flat tyre.. sounds simple but we had everything apart from a wrench and after asking quite a few people in the car park we had no joy, this man kindly stopped to help! Honestly we really appreciated it with being so far from home, coming from a long journey visiting my newborn nephew and also having young children in the car too it made what what turning into a stressful moment into not so bad! Not many would stop to help but he did just shows there are still good people about! We didn't get his name but it was at the wall island services Litchfield!! Thank you ever so much

User

Thank you to your colleague who recovered me this afternoon after my car caught fire on the M40. No fuss, just got me off the hard shoulder and back to your depot safe and sound! Just what I needed. :)

User

So, everything was gravy, I'm 300 miles from home into my 430 mile journey, the sun is out, it's just the fam in the car and we are all looking forward to our week away in Scotland, we have everything planned and are looking forward to our estimated 6pm arrival... When suddenly my car makes a noise... I'm the only one in the car that heard this noise and it's the type of noise that is enough to put the shits up any motorist. The type of noise that you know has just ducked your bank holiday weekend right up and is about to cost you both your arms and a maybe both legs! Suddenly on top of the now heavy steering I have smoke pouring out of the bonnet and the dashboard is lit up like Like the Las Vegas strip on the 4th of July... I manage to coast off the motorway across 3 lanes and the chevrons to a slip road with a few meters left before I get a taste of the suddenly very close crash barrier and the car runs long enough to make it into a truck stop conveniently half a mile from where it happened and I now realise that was the twang of an alternator belt and the point I started to smell my car burning from the inside out. I'm horrified! I have a car full of holiday shite, my bird and my 2 kids who suddenly all look to me for answers as suddenly the look on my face changes from something of happiness to something out of a horror movie, panic and confusion set in as to what the duck am I going to do. I pop the bonnet and instantly know the problem, my alternator belt has snapped!... There must be a pulley seized I thought to myself, I then progress in putting my hand in the engine bay to see what pulley was seized forgetting I have spent the last 5 hours belting down the motorway, melting my fingertips, burning my wrist and teaching the children swear words they didn't even know existed! Suddenly I realise I am not fixing this and wondering do I even have breakdown cover?... I phone random insurance companies from the past because by this point I have forgotten who I am actually insured with and frantically searching google I am pointed in the direction of flux direct. Finally I get hold of them and they assure me someone will be with me in an hour and finally I calm down after. After a much needed alcoholic beverage and an hour and a half later a truck turns up and picks up me and the fam so we can continue our journey. Car broken down or not I am having this ducking holiday! The guys name was paul and he was a good character and good company for the rest of the journey, he helped me dump my car in the forecourt of the garage I intended on doing the repairs and gave me and the fam a lift to our accommodation with all our bags. He made a terrible experience into a manageable experience and actually put a smile on all our faces. Top effort from Paul from Carlisle! Thankyou!

Rescued this morning by Leanne, got to me quickly and got us on our way to sort my car.

Highly recommended!

Last night I spent 7 hours soaked through and freezing at Tebay services due to a shredded belt ,after two recovery trucks where unable to help,

John arrived in E831,

Not only did he have all the tools required,

he also had the skills, ability and professionalism to not be beaten by some bolts that many would of given up ever getting out. He was so kind and understanding of my situation, I managed to get the new belt and John worked through some awful conditions and had me back on the road after some next level engineering to make best of a bad situation, I build aircraft for a living so completely understood just how far he went to help me, I would like to hope he gets some recognition for an awesome display of top quality customer service,

I will recommend Egertons to anyone that gets the option to use them.

If John is an example of their company standard,

Egertons they'll get you home !

User

Just a huge thank you to Leane ( your only female member of staff ;) ) who has been so amazing with us when our car broke down on the m40. Our recovery service had been really awful and let us waiting for 5 hours with a 16 months baby in one of the most dangerous motorway of the country. Leane was called by highway agents so her responsibility was just to take our car to a depot as she was told but she did her best to be sure that we are going to be OK and i do believe that her pressure on the phone pushed our bullshit recovery service to come quicker. We will never forget her kindness. Big thank you Leane.

User

John from the Abingdon branch came to pull my car out of a ditch. I could not have asked for better customer service. Obviously, I felt pretty bad and he was very reassuring. He brought the car back to me within half an hour. Thank you John.

User

Jamie has been wonderful today...in rescuing me from a dangerous spot on A34. Thank you for the great customer service and your perseverance with trying to fix my car! Really appreciated you getting me some water in the sweltering heat before you had to head out to your next job! Excellent service and would recommend!

User

I would like to thank the company for the service they have provided on Monday night, especially a great thanks to Aaron of the Oxford Depot. He got me and my car safely home. There is a slight negative thing and that was the communication between RAC and Egerton's back to me about all the delays that evening. I broke down at 18.30 and i got home (which is near Basingstoke) at 02.30 on Tuesday morning. But the towing and the friendliness i will give a 5*!

User

I was recovered by Aaron from the Abingdon branch after a nasty crash on the M40 today. I was shaken but somehow unhurt, he did a great job getting me and my wrecked car home safely and was a top bloke too.

User

I do feel guilty I didn't get the gentleman's name but big thanks for picking me up from Crewe Hall tonight even though it meant he was working after he was meant to finish and taking me and the car that no longer has a spring in its wheels to the garage and even offering to drop me part of the way home. It's a 5 minute walk and I was happy to do it so he could drop the truck back the drive the hour plus home

User

Couldn't be more grateful for our Egertons engineer Fred's help! After a gig in Guildford with my band The Ollie West Band, we set off in convoy back to Manchester just after midnight. But disaster struck on the m40, with my dashboard lights going out, and upon stopping on the hard shoulder discovered I had no rear lights! Within minutes of calling RAC I was put in contact with Fred, who immediately set off. Once he arrived he fixed the problem within about half an hour, even replacing my dodgy headlights - and with an incredibly friendly demeanour to boot (especially as it was half 2 in the morning!) We got back at 5 in the morning safe, all thanks to Fred! Highly recommend!!

User

After three and a half hours waiting for the AA Aaron Billingham picked me up from oxford and took me to Manchester as the tyre shops were all shut he stopped so I could get a drink and then was really friendly all the way thanks so much

User

Absolutely brilliant service this morning. Recovery truck from Abingdon (friendly Scottish guy) and diagnostics from Bicester (Josh I think) both were super cheerful and professional.

User

So, after being in a car accident on Saturday evening. The police arranged for egertons to recover my car. Whilst they waited for my insurance company to recover the vehicle from their garage they cleared my car out and stole everything. Claiming not to have touched an item. I got two different stories front he receptionists trying to dig their way out of it. A lot of expensive stuff gone that i had worked hard for. Safe to say i am shocked. And this is all in the hands with Thames valley police now. Disgusting behaviour from a police contracted recovery garage.

Review posted on Google reviews by my husband :

7 hours 30 minute wait for recovery following tyre puncture yesterday 8 May 2018. They called me at 7.50 am giving a 90 minutes to 2 hours wait. This was followed by me calling them 6 times for an update. Believe me they are well versed in excuses. During the wait time for connection to talk to someone they make all sorts of claims how good they are, one of which is "50 years experience", this experience does not extend to determining the car you drive as the first truck to arrive after 5 hours 40 minutes was not suitable. The next truck "due within the hour" arrived 90 minutes later.

A negative rating would be more appropriate. Difficult to understand how this firm is still in business.

User

Lovely man in the recovery truck took me home (not his fault) however the company didn't tell me honestly what was happening to my vehicle when they took it to the depot and when I was ringing to explain I was third party only it all went round in circles so now I have to pay £400 because my car was kept in storage and to get my broken car back to me. I didn't sign anything and wasn't asked all the valid questions. I think this company is dishonest and I hope I can somehow get my money back as they made a stressful situation even more stressful by taking my car without making it clear of charges. I'm very angry and appalled by this service.

User

I never usually leave bad reviews but this has been an absolute joke. Over 2hrs late from the confirmed arrival time (not estimate) and no call updating us. Every time we have called we’ve had different information. Still sat waiting and wondering. Not happy!
