About Egham Royal Show
The Egham Show is organised by the Egham & Thorpe Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Association
Egham Royal Show Description
The Egham Show was founded in 1857 to encourage the local farmers and their labourers in their work. Life has changed dramatically in Egham since that date and so has the show.
Every August bank holiday visitors can enjoy the finest of traditional favourites including the Punch and Judy shows in their own tent, the giant horticulture marquee, the Kids Tent with entertainment for the children, auto jumble stand, children's rides, a bar and food choices in the community marquee, where visitors can watch the attractions in the main arena. Visitors are also invited to take part in judging the variety of different competitions varying from cake decorating to best classic motorbike.
There is also a Crafts marquee, and a model tent together with the ever-popular steam and traction engines, and the vintage and classic car display. The vehicles parade around the main arena on both afternoons.
The weekend event holds a special place in the hearts of residents across the area and feature fun, music, horticultural and craft stalls. The aim of the show is to mix the agricultural and horticultural themes of yesteryear with the style of attractions that will appeal to younger visitors.
