We paid our first visit here this week since it adopted the Ego badge. An early meal arriving around 5pm for Thursday kebab night. We had a starter and the mixed espetada each. Started with a very palatable pint, served with a smile. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was served hot and tasty. I can not fault our experience, well done to all concerned. We will be back

Visited last night with three friends. Had previously booked a table for 5 but one friend cancelled so we were shown to a table for 4. Had a choice of tables which was nice. So much to choose from on the menu. After much deliberation I chose lamb kofta starter and Moroccan lamb main. I was not disappointed. Absolutely beautiful food. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. A sentiment echoed by my fellow diners. Had a lovely bottle of wine with the meal and finished with an Eton Mess and a coffee. We were so relaxed that we stayed longer than intended. Staff were very attentive and on hand to provide more drinks when needed. Will definitely be going again.

Thank you so much for everything you did for us yesterday for our mums wake, you ensured we had privacy despite it being a busy and joyful time of year for others, the food was lovely and so were the staff. Mum would have loved it!!!! Thank you! Xx

My 1st time here and I already can’t wait to come back! I organised my friends hen do here on Friday and from start to finish the staff were fantastic. The little touch for me was as we were a big group of 28! Coming out with the food shouting people’s names rather than the order. This made it so easy and simple for everyone to get what they had ordered with no fuss. The food was really tasty and I felt they made it really special for everyone. Thank you so much for a great evening.

I recently had my 40th birthday meal here & although we were booked in at 7:30pm we had 2 guests that couldn’t make it till a little later & the manager was so understanding & kept reassuring us that there was no rush. My 18 month old nephew was there too and they really made a fuss of him which was cute. All the food was lovely as always, I adore the atmosphere...very chic yet cosey...I love this place & always recommend it to others �

Had a fab meal small mix up and this was sorted very efficiently, will be back soon �

Come to Ego last night for my daughters hen party meal & it was perfect in every way. The staff were lovely, the food was delicious & we had an amazing night. Thank you so much for making it so special xx

Absolutely wonderful service tonight and the food equally matched! Thank you for my birthday meal. The kids really enjoyed wearing their shefs hat and making their own pizza. Will definitely be coming again xxx

Had lunch here today. Only 3 of us on the table and 2-3 other tables in at the time. Can’t fault the food, when it came it was lovely. However the service was poor. An almost empty place and it took 20 minutes for them to just take our order and then 40 minutes for it to arrive. Then even longer for the main course. To be fair when we mentioned it they knocked 25% off the final bill and didn’t argue the toss. They also said there was a big event for x 70 at night so they were trying to set up. Well ok, but that doesn’t mean you forget about guests during the day. I’d definitely try there again as the food was very good, think they just need to iron out the kinks in the service.

Sorry to say the service at Ego was appalling today and my food was not the best either. Wont be going back in a hurry. Its a shame really cus been a few times b4 and its always been good.

Sorry to say didnt enjoy the pizza meal at all wont be eatting out there again very pricey too !

Dont usually write bad reviews but sorry to say the garlic bread was too greasy and the pizza was awful. The base was burned and didn't tasted nice at all. Too much rocket on it. Only thing nice was goats cheese and the veg on it. Felt quite sick after it to be honest. Waiting time was quite bad and portion of fries wasn't enough but they tasted ok

Woeful. Group of six. Restaurant 40% occupied, but ignored at the bar whilst staff talked amongst themselves, ignored waiting for our table. Was like being at a concert as the music was incredibly loud for a restaurant (Where you'd like to have a conversation) so much so that we assume the waiter couldn't hear our orders as no drinks for 30 mins (2 reminders) only 50% of starters turned up. Main courses, Paella swimming in oil, Lamb dry. Been several times before, but this was beyond poor, unfortunately the overriding impression was that the staff and management didn't really care. With such choice within a 5 mile radius, I find it hard to see how this business can survive. Dreadful.

We watched other tables who ordered after us have their mains and finish them and we still did not get our mains. This is completely unacceptable service. We had one person ask us if we needed drink refills after half an hour and nobody else came to our table to apologise for having to wait over 40 minutes between our starter and main. When I asked if our food was coming I was told it was on its way and there was no apology after I mentioned it had been a long time. When it finally arrived we had no explanation or apology for the amount of time we had to wait. We will not come again.

Im not one of these people who slate places for no reason as i am the one to read reviews and say some people are just being picky!... but where so i start books a table told to be seated with a drink (so far so good) a while later realising we are not to be seated, asking a member of staff who says our table has been ready for us! So when where we going to get told this???

Starter came prawn cocktail to be served a plate full of greens with what i counted 4 prawns!!

Main came my father in law ordered sea bass which was burnt with hardly any sea bass remaining, mother in laws was soaked in what she discribes as dirty chip pan oil! (Lemon chicken) i also didnt enjoy mine (comfit duck leg) which i was saying it tasted strange.

Asked for the bill to see they had put another tables drinks in adding it up to an extra £40!! After a few times of going back and forth sorting the bill out and mentioning the quality of food was poor having to ask to remove the sea bass from the bill as it wasnt edible we left with an apology (all is forgotten despite knowing and hearing members of staff talking about us and when walking out getting a dirty look)

Gets home to enjoy the rest of christmas eve to then have 2 of the party being sick (one of which is pregnant)!

I honeslty wouldnt waste my time on writing a review if i wasnt so unhappy!
