not compared to your chain pub grub this is propa food home cooked not by a microwave lovely will be back again thanks Everyone..... be seeing u soon....

Won the 3 course lunch competition this week and dined this afternoon. Food was delicious, so much so that my husband had to take his dessert home as he enjoyed his ribs (starter) and his fish and chips (main) too much to leave any room for dessert. Thank you for a yummy couple of hours.

Won a facebook competition for free starters and desserts when a main meal is purchased which was perfect timing as our friends were coming to visit for the weekend. Food was beautiful as always, fantastic service and amazing drinks selection! We love coming here and our friends were very impressed. :) many thanks again! Vicky and Toby x (the postman who nips in for a pint with the dalmatian!�)

We attended on Father’s Day, family of four with a view of the TV for the Germany game.. my husband was happy he could watch football and the food was delicious as always.. Thank You .

Trish hosted our daughters 18th birthday party recently. Trish helped me organise everything from start to finish. There was 22 of us so quite a big party but everything was excellent. The food, drinks and service were great. We would recommend holding any special occasion here. Thank you Trish �

I went here tonight for the wine wednesday competition that I won, was also my first time at this place & I loved it, and I will be returning very soon! It is a great place for the winter & summer time. Staff are really friendly and the food is delicious! Thankyou for having me & my nan tonight we both really enjoyed it ��

Had an absolutely amazing meal last night, we both had the 3 course option and everything was delicious. We will 100% be returning, only this time in a taxi so I can sample more of your 60+ Gins, also love that it's dog friendly so will definitely be back with our frenchie.



Our only regret was that we didn't go for the bigger slice of the white chocolate dessert, it was so good.



Also 10/10 for who we assumed were the owners so friendly and welcoming.

Came here after winning the Facebook competition for one 3 course meal and drink! Brilliant food, one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever eaten and nice cosy atmosphere would definitely return �

Been for Sunday dinner with my family today and the food and service and venue was all beautiful. The staff are so friendly and accommodating (my dads mobility isn’t very good and so staff placed us directly next to big patio door which is all flat ground and easy access making things very easy for him. My children had the children’s Sunday dinner and they were just as amazing as the adults and the puddings 😍 oh and the gin selection 😳 spoilt for choice. We will definitely be back. See you again elephant and castle.

Amazing place, amazing food, amazing chef and amazing for allergies. They are so thorough and thoughtful when it comes to allergies. They made me a meal that was not even on the menu to cater for me! And checked all the Deseret to find one suitable! Would highly recommend elephant and the castle it is one of the only places I can eat without my baby having a reaction to the food! � � � � �

I love the food here and can’t wait to come back, just a few little niggles. The first is when we took my little boy before his christening do at the pub, a lady on the next table was complaining that she didn’t like babies near her, a member of staff told her that one of the waitresses didn’t like serving babies so she sent them up top, way to make us feel welcome especially when my child was better behaved than the woman � at the christening do the food and service was lovely although the pork dinner was delayed and we had a diabetic in our party who needed food at certain times. Mistakes happen I get that and everyone enjoyed their meal. One really good point was that we were supposed to come for Mother’s Day but with my son being ill and my mum recently diagnosed with pneumonia we cannot make it. They were very accommodating and let us have the meal another time which was really nice

Came today for Sunday Lunch for the first time. Food was absolutely beautiful. I had the chicken which was really moist. Partner had the pork and said it was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the chocolate brownie and cheesecake of the day, both of which were gorgeous.

My only reason for giving you a 4* is for the service. At times we felt like the staff weren't paying much attention to customers. We had to ask twice for our second lot of drinks after waiting 15 minutes and them not arriving. This was a bit frustrating as we only ordered them to go with our desserts and by the time they arrived, we had finished our desserts so was a waste of time. We had to leave our bill payment on the table as no staff came for it.

Really enjoyed the food though.

Well and truly disappointed came for my 30th as a party of 15 of us already had meals prebooked for months in advance table wa boooked for 2 and starter didn't arrive til 2.50 roast dinner wasnt up to much and we didn't get told mash was extra cost even tho that did get took off bill after speaking to owner but for the amount of mash u got to share between 2 people was rediculous everyone who had chicken ledt it and said it was hard and dry was really looking forward to this day but was spoilt im afraid to say we wont be returning any time soon

Came on Friday with my boyfriend. We had the garlic bloomer for starters, there was too much bread and not enough cheese n garlic and wasn't worth the money.

I had bbq chicken and bacon for the main but it was too dry and only got six chips.

My boyfriend had the Gammon with egg, the egg was cooked too much and the Gammon was really small and again six chips.

Didnt like the fact there was a dog in the restaurant too, not were there is food around. Overall I didn't rate it and won't be going back.

After a lovely walk to the pub a smile would have been nice by the barman, or a hello........ please take note of the heart on your wall...... a smile costs nothing. Next time we will keep walking �

So much for my father's day meal, my daughter in law booked the table 3 months ago, confirmation email received, rang up this morning to see if we can add one person. No record of the booking? Too late to book anywhere else. You would have thought they would have had the decency to fit us in at the time we booked. Took me an hour to drive over for this meal. Disappointed isn't the word.

Shocking food with shocking service. Went for a birthday meal, waited over and hour for food despite tables coming in after us being served first. Were lied to that these tables had “pre booked” and when we asked the tables, they hadn’t at all. When the food did eventually arrive, it was so badly cooked that we sent it back. Paid for our drinks and left. Ended up having a better meal in McDonald’s. It’s also ridiculously expensive for what it is, pub food. Poor pub food. Stop kidding yourselves and fire your chef.
