What a lovely place nice clean bright and spacious staff very friendly just popped in for a cuppa and a sandwich nice touch with the little sand timer to make sure the tea is brewed just right

User

Lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff and very spacious cafe. Hot chocolate is to die for , so are waffles and crepes! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Folkestone!

User

I came with my dog(hes got a treat from the staff too)

This is such a lovely and relatively hidden gem (given its central location)! It's next to old town and from the outside it doesn't look like much, but if you venture inside, the place is fairly spacious and it has an outstanding decor! House red was tasty and the bread selection very good. Not too crowded, not too quiet, just right - would recommend!

User

First visit to this place. Went late in the afternoon so nice & quiet. Childs hot choc & brownie very much enjoyed. I had the aromatic spicy hot choc which was devine and was like rich soup. Also had the caramel tiffin; oh my! Due to the drinks being so rich & luxurious asked for a doggie bag to take leftover cakes home. Staff very friendly & happily wrapped leftovers up for me. Will defo be returning for our next treat time.

User

First time we came into Eleto cafe was afternoon for a coffee which was amazing and to see exactly where we were setting up our music system for the evenings event Chocolate House...

The decor within this establishment is lovely and the staff were very welcoming, happy and worked very hard indeed when it came to the eveings party, so thank you all.

User

Eleto cafe is an amazing place, with great coffee, high quality food and very nice people working in there as well.

The atmosphere is great and I would highly recommend it!

What a curious place. Excellent decor, so original. Excellent coffee, amazing toilets

Today we tried 'Eleto Chocolate Cafe' in Folkestone out for the first time. Upon entry, I was absolutely gobsmacked by how well the place had been decorated. Cool colours over the walls, on which hung some very interesting picture frames with amazing artwork contained within! Even the furniture was quirky! A young boy already in there with his family had great fun eating his lunch whilst sat on what appeared to be a throne!

Having not entered there before, I had no idea on what food or drinks to expect, and really didn't know what to do once we were in - Do I wait to be seated, or just sit and wait? Do I approach the bar? I had no idea. To be honest, this was the only complaint I have about the place...we waited for about 10 minutes, before my partner approached the counter to request a menu. After that, no complaints at all. We were given about 5 minutes to review the menu, and was then approached by a waitress to take our order. Again, another 5 minutes or so went by and our drinks, (shortly followed by our food) was placed on our table - Very prompt service indeed! I went for the 'Hot Sandwich', where I chose cured ham, mozzarella cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, (it was delicious). My partner went with the strawberry with white chocolate crepe, my son...chocolate icecream. Everything was delicious! I even had a cheeky Peroni to accompany my food. Overall, decent service providing nice food in an amazing setting!

User

Great food, reasonable prices. Service times, took a bit longer to get our order than perhaps it should have but the girl behind the till was great and apologised and got it all sorted for us

User

Lovely coffee & the chocolate brownie was to die for. Muffin with its side of melted chocolate & waffle with Belgian chocolate were lovely too. Nice little touch with a 5min timer with a cup of tea. What really lets you down is the length of time you have to wait to get what you've ordered, 30mins minimum..not good for 3 drinks & 3 pieces of cake...

User

I have visited here on many occasions and always love the food and service but after today I feel I must say something! The order came to £10.30 and I gave your staff member Polly £12- £10 note + £2 coin!!!!! She short changed me by £1 and insisted I only gave her £11. After a little exchange, she grudgingly gave me the £1 back! No apology!!!! I will not return! Also mentioned on Twitter.

I have been to the Canterbury store many times so was so excited to have one here in Folkestone. Over the past 7 visits I've found my experience to be variable from brilliant to massively disappointing. Customer service appears to be the crux of the problems, I would strongly suggest the presence of a more experienced staff member or more effective training for handling customer care. Some staff are lovely, attentive, honestly care about what they do so the products they turn out are prompt and of a good quality. Others seem to be there to chat, or take a very long time to make and bring the order over. I will stress now, as I have seen you comment on other reviews, that the length of time service takes has had no relation to how busy the shop is as I'm generally there when it is quiet. Another issue, I was recently disappointed when coming to the shop to find you now no longer do food after 5pm even though there is no note on your website regarding this and the menu I read before leaving home states food is served until late. Another disappointment was your LGBTQ+ night which was cancelled due to lack of ticket sales when two different staff members who spoke to me about it failed to mention tickets must be purchased in advance. When I discuss difficulties politely with staff to give you the opportunity to address these they appear not to know how to handle a complaint other than an empty apology, or maybe you're having issues with management and therefore your inexperienced staff aren’t being supported to let them be the best they can be. Either way please start listening to your reviews and customers. I don’t want your shop to disappear from Folkestone through your apathy in addressing honestly valid issues.

User

Have been here many times since it opened bug wasn't that impressed today because my tea wadnt boiling hot and was given a tiny piece of cake which was a smaller portion than I have had there before !!!

Then paying for mine an my daughter's items I realise now I was totally overcharged for what we had and think I actually paid for someone else's order . I think they need to change there system here and you pay when you order to stop any confusion happening again ÔŅĹ

User

Went in on a Sunday afternoon for a coffee and cake. The food and drink were ok but the music was so loud that we could barely hear ourselves talk. I like a good atmosphere but it felt like the music was trying to make up for the fact that the place was pretty empty.

User

This is the 3rd time my family and I have tried this cafe. On each occasion the service has been slow to say the least. Waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our order, when the place wasn’t exceptionally busy, is poor. Then another 20 minutes for just drinks to arrive.

We ordered 3 hot drinks and they all came at different times. They brought us a jug of water at our request, and the glasses had sticky finger marks all over them, and something hard and crusty on one of them.

When the Irish coffee finally arrived, it was barely luke warm, the cream had been stirred in to the coffee also. If I go to a cafe I expect the staff to have some knowledge of the service they are offering. There seems to be a need for an older, more experienced member of staff to run the place.

When we told the staff that all of our drinks were luke warm and the Irish coffee was not made properly, we had to suggest a discount, at which 10% was offered, not a great amount when the item ordered wasn’t really delivered.

I don’t like to complain, but we will not be going to this cafe again, it’s such a shame as the Canterbury branch is lovely.

User

Have visited several times since it opened and have had very poor service every time. I had hoped that the service issues had been teething problems but it appears they are the norm. If you don't mind being ignored for 20 minutes before you get asked for your order or waiting 40 minutes for a coffee then you won't be disappointed. It's a real shame as the coffee is excellent as are the sweet treats. If the service issues can be resolved then this place has the potential of being the best cafe in town.

User

Disappointed, after taking our friends to dinner at blooms and refusing dessert there (as we specifically wanted to come to you) we found at 915 the ladies all packing up, when asked why you were closing we just got an awkward 'well we haven't been very busy' as our response, when you say you close at 1030?, I understand closing a couple of minutes early but over an hour?! ÔŅĹ

User

What an absolute joke!!! Don't even bother. Having phoned Friday evening around 9pm to ask whether it would be advisable to book as we wanted to come at about 6:45 before the theatre on Saturday, the lady answering the phone went to ask her supervisor as she didn't usually work Saturdays. She was very friendly and informed me no it would be fine and they don't take bookings. So we got there at about 6:40 on Saturday evening, the only ones there, got given a menu and then I asked what the soup of the day was. To be told they had been quiet so actually they had shut the kitchen and would be serving no food!! Bearing in mind they say they open until 10:30pm and this was 6:40pm on a Saturday!! Unbelievable!!! Rubbish service.

User

Walk in looking to get a coffee and maybe some food. No greetings when walking in from staff member. Said we would like to get coffee, we were asked what coffee we would like and we said we would look at the menu. The member of staff then went over to the bar and repeated the conversation and mocked us and laughed. A shame as this is our first and last visit.
