I have worked as a therapist in various clinical settings for over 14 years and currently run a private practice where I offer face-to-face & on-line therapy for individuals and couples and also Clinical Supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors.

Elizabeth Sendall Counselling & Relationship Therapy Description

Welcome to my page. I understand that there are times when we can all feel very "stuck". However, I hold a belief that talking therapies are a very useful tool for encouraging self-development on many different issues.

Counselling provides the time to talk about problems, concerns, thoughts and feelings. Being able to speak freely and honestly without fear of being judged is an important part of the therapeutic healing process.

I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist in various clinical settings including the NHS, Women's Aid, and Cruse. I currently operate a small but busy private practice and take self-referrals as well as referrals from health professionals, EAP providers, addiction clinics, and occupational health. I also offer clinical supervision to other therapists and student counsellors. I am a registered member of the BACP and offer both short term and long term therapy.

I have a keen interest in unresolved loss and bereavement in childhood and how this can impact on people emotionally in adulthood. I counsel clients on a wide range of relationship issues and have valuable experience in areas ranging from the trauma of domestic abuse through to eating disorders in middle-age and maturity.

Making an appointment is easy. Either telephone or text on the number above or alternatively send me an email and we can arrange a mutually suitable day and appointment time for a clinical assessment. I cannot always answer my phone immediately, if that is the case, then please leave a message with your name and contact details and I will return your call.

During the assessment a personal history is taken and goals or objectives can be discussed. It gives my clients the opportunity to ask any questions they may have regarding the counselling process and determine how they feel about beginning therapy.

Parking
There is plenty of quiet off-road parking for clients which is situated away from the main road.

My practice is situated within 5 minutes from Junction 31 of the M1 and is a short walking distance of main bus routes from Sheffield, Rotherham and North Nottinghamshire.

Fees
My counselling fees are £35 per hour

Clinical Supervision £45 per 1: 5 hours

Student Clinical Supervision £35 per 1: 5 hours
Personal therapy for student counsellors is available on request.

Really interesting article on bullying behaviour. I hear about "Gaslighting" in my office regularly. Learning to trust that 'gut-instinct' again can be a long process for the victims of this very real and damaging form of emotional abuse.

... and talking of fairy-tale re-writings - happy listening from the Godmother (pun intended) herself. I've been a huge fan of Angela Carter since I was a teenager - here you can listen to her short stories from The Bloody Chamber - perfect listening for Autmn evenings...

I've just ordered this book from Amazon. A re-writing of traditional fairy tales but about real women from the past and the present. The most inspiring theme running through each story is that if she does need rescuing... she rescues herself. An empowering message for all children.

Domestic violence increases by 38% when the home team loses.

Is artificial intelligence really the future for therapy?

A really insightful programme on the impact on our sense of self after experiencing an epiphany - the last 90 seconds however are especially profound.

A really touching article on the experience of therapy. It reminds me of something my grandfather (a very wise old owl) would occasionally say: - the one thing in life we have to accept, is change...

Very poignant feature on bereavement.

The composers of this piece of music claim it to be the most relaxing of auditory experiences you'll ever have... so what do you think?

Amusing comedy about therapy with some larger than life characters.
