We interviewed Sarah Carter (Children’s Nurse) to find out how our Children’s Team are keeping seriously ill children and families together this Christmas🎄:
“Christmas can be very difficult, especially if children are very sick or at end of life. It’s a really key goal for our families to have that last Christmas together, and we help to facilitate that. We keep them out of hospital as we provide that specialist complex care.”
ellenor prides itself on delivering the best hosp...ice care to seriously and terminally ill children and young adults. We believe it’s crucial not only to support the children under our care, but also their siblings. We help to reduce the time children have to spend in hospital by arranging and coordinating the care tailored to their needs at home and providing specialist advice as well as emotional and other practical support for the family.
The team also works closely with multiple teams in hospitals and in the community to ensure the highest quality of care.

We had a great time talking to everyone at the 50+ Forum held @TheWoodville in Gravesend last week. The community were very keen to support their local hospice charity and find out more about our groups – such as Carers and Bereavement Cuppa; along with volunteering and fundraising opportunities.
We really enjoyed talking to so many people about their own personal experiences and look forward to the next event.

You have been amazing for my father in law, we can't believe how you visited us yesterday morning and by the afternoon we were having beds delivered and other medical equipment to make him more comfortable and it easier to fulfil his wishes of staying at home until the end.

We love u guys u have been an amazing help to us and thx u for supporting us whilst on the rotary disneyland paris trip u guys were amazing sian gill hannah and emma xxxxxxx jensen misses u guys x

The Ellenor took amazing care of my Grandad recently when he spent his final few days here. The staff were lovely and I was able to bring my newborn twins in for my Grandad to see them! It was lovely to see people being able to bring their dogs in etc. Amazing place �

My father was placed with ellenor for his last days , they were simply amazing and made my father as comfortable as they possibly could . They were supportive and great listeners they were indeed Angels and will never forget how wonderful they are !! I will indeed help to raise money for ellenor as without it I don't know what we would of done.

My Dad went to day therapy weekly for over a year, he was looked after and met some amazing people. He was an inpatient in the last two weeks of his life and they looked after dad with care and compassion. Doctors and nurses alike. They even cared and looked after me! Karen Frost was amazing, very caring and kind. She made my dad laugh and smile right till the end. Thank you Ellenor, you are all amazing angels xxx

It is such a caring organisation

I spent an emotional morning with my dog Rupert chatting to some of the bravest nicest people I have ever met. Cannot put into words how kind these people are

I couldnt wish of a better place for my mum to have been, from day 1 she was cared for so well right upto her final daythe staff are amazing and the volunteers are helpful and lovely too, thanks to you all for looking after my mum♥️

Everyone at the Ellenor are wonderful. Tommy ,my husband had several stays in there. He spent his last days there with all his loved ones around. Nothing is too much trouble. We cannot thank them enough x

Ellenor nurses were wonderful helping us to care for my poor Mum in her last few days. She had Cerebal Lymphoma. They made her so comfortable which ment she passed away peacefully in her sleep with no pain. I will be forever in thier debt for this.

Ellenor looked after my dad twice. The 2nd stay was just 3 days but they cared for him a million percent. I can never thank you all enough. Forever in my heart xxx

I hope the money we raised at his funeral will help you and future patients and families xxx

Can't thank the staff enough for what they did for my nan last year. Lesley went above and beyond to pop in and check on her and always kept me updated. You all played a brilliant part in making her last week's and days as comfortable as you could and for that I'll always be greatful. Thank you, personally from me but also on behalf of my family �
