About Ellenroad Engine House, Steam Museum

The Ellenroad Trust Ltd was established in 1985 to ensure the preservation of the Ellenroad Engine House and Engines. The Trust arranged the refurbishment of the boiler house and the engines and started to run as a steam museum.

Ellenroad Engine House, Steam Museum Description

Home to one of only three schedule historic monuments in Rochdale. We house the world's largest working steam mill engines - Victoria and Alexandra.

The Engine House is open and steaming on the first Sunday of every month. Situated just off junction 21 M62 we are easy to find just look out for our 220ft chimney!
