Our next DWC sponsor is Pocket Panto run by the amazing Darren Johnson. The aim of Pocket Panto is to produce a small scale traditional family pantomime with large scale production values and take it out into the local community to venues such as schools, libraries, pubs, clubs and community centres. These performances will not only be at the traditional Christmas period but will be throughout the year. (Try telling a five to eleven year old it’s too early for panto!) Using... a cast of three talented professional actors, Pocket Panto will bring the whole pantomime experience to each venue. With live singing, dancing, slapstick, audience participation and with the emphasis very much on family entertainment, there truly will be something for everyone. ElliTe Studios Performing Arts College is for students age 16+ who are interested in a career in dance performance and / or dance teaching. We specialise in providing thorough dance training with the focus on either preparing our students for the auditions for level 6 college courses, for dance teaching careers or directly into professional performance jobs.
Students this year have gained full...y-funded places at Bird College, Central School of Ballet, Laine Theatre Arts, and Performers College. Others have gone straight into employment with Disney and a variety of international cruise lines.
As for our trainee teachers - the ISTD DDE qualifications are recognised worldwide and grant students full ISTD membership including the ability to enter children for examinations at all levels. They also enable candidates to access higher level qualifications should they wish, depending on their career aims. There is an option to apply for the level 6 higher Teaching Qualification (Diploma in Dance Pedagogy) which would enable candidates to apply for Qualified Teaching and Learning Status (QTLS) to teach within the state education sector or Further Education. Following Level 6 students could apply to Middlesex University to complete their MA.
