Been a quite a few times to Elm Beds, we absolutely love it!!!
Its a great place to relax and unwind. You can get straight onto the canal from the camp site for walks in the countryside and its in a great location for Poynton and the Middlewood Way (for walking/cycling) and also Lyme Park.
Always find Darren and Nick very pleasant and helpful, the very first time we arrived I had trouble reversing my caravan onto the slabs and Darren brought out his quad bike and did it for me.
We are looking forward to visiting again in a few weeks.
I've now mastered reversing so no need to ask for assistance from Darren.

So we booked this site as we were looking for a regular base whilst visiting family nearby. We arrived at 6pm on the Friday evening to no one available at reception. We managed to contact Nick who told us where to put our caravan and said would catch us at some point for payment. It was a very wet weekend so due to the pitches being grass, the ground was quite boggy (Can't be helped - there are, however, concrete slabs to put your caravan on). On Saturday morning my husband went to find the showers as we had no introduction the night before to tell us where everything was. He went in the car as he didn't know how far away it was. After his shower, he got back on the car only to find he was stuck in the mud. Not something he planned, obviously, and I'm sure something most of us have experienced.....in fact he'd helped someone to get out of the mud the night before a couple of pitches up from us. So he phoned Nick to ask for help, who was very polite but unavailable so passed him on to Darren. On phoning Darren my husband was met with a barrage of verbal abuse!!! He was sworn at and told he had ruined his day as he was just about to have a cup of coffee and go out and then went on to call him a f***ing stupid idiot!!!!! In the end Nick and Darren turned up to get him out but needless to say we will not be going back there.....purely due to the disgraceful attitude from Darren.
