Elmet Genealogy Description

If you are researching your own family tree and are lucky enough to discover that you have Yorkshire Ancestry, but are located too far away from Yorkshire to visit the the area yourself, we can visit the records offices, archives, churchyards, and other places of interest for you.
Whether you want a full family tree or are interested in researching just one or two lines of your family history, we can offer a range of services to suit. Alternatively if for reasons of geography or lack of time, you are not able to visit the beautiful and historic county of Yorkshire, we can visit the archives, records offices, churchyards, and other places of interest on your behalf. We can even take photographs of the places where your ancestors lived, worshipped, married, worked and perhaps now rest in the earth

Elmet Genealogy is run by Christopher Hinchliffe, who is based in the heart of Yorkshire, situated half way between Leeds and York, with easy access to the numerous record offices and archives of Yorkshire.
With many thousands of hours spent in records offices and archives, and being equally proficient using online sources, I have a decade of experience in family history research.
I am educated to a higher degree level (B. Sc. Hons. and M. Sc. ) with a background in science and data analysis, which demonstrates a methodical, systematic and thorough mode of working. I have a lifelong interest and enthusiasm for family history, local history and British history in general.
I have been researching my own family tree for many years. I am very thorough in my research and pay meticulous attention to detail, taking pride in accuracy and a professional approach to research.
I am currently working towards formal qualifications in Genealogy with the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies
