Local group inc Greens, Labour, Lib Dems & Ind working to rescue local politics from its stagnant conservative rut & provide a progressive alternative.

Ely Progressives is a group of local people including Greens, Labour, Liberal Democrats and independents attempting to shake up local politics and rescue it from the current stagnant rut. We want to provide a progressive alternative to the current conservative doldrums.

We want to make the area more democratic, representative and transparent. We plan to foster open debate and discussion that leads to the formulation of a broad based set of local policies covering areas like housing, education, employment, transport and health care provision.

We are taking an inclusive and collaborative approach, working with the local centre left parties, local campaign groups and grass-roots organisations. We want to get people involved and having a real say in how their local community is run.
