A very big thank you to our amazing Friends of St Mary's for all of their hard work over the past year. Our recent summer fayre (held with Spring Meadow PSA) raised over £1000 for each school. Our year 6 pupils had a fantastic time at their leavers barbecue last night which was also run by Friends of St Mary's. Thank you so much!

Year 6 Leavers' Assembly is tomorrow (Tuesday 23 July) at 10:00am...parents and carers may need tissues!

Year 6 Leavers' Barbecue is on Tuesday 23rd July (5pm-7pm). Tickets are £3.50 - if you haven't already done so, please hand in the money to the office as soon as you can so we can issue tickets to the children.

Good afternoon! We hope everyone has had a great break and that you are enjoying the sunshine. Just a reminder that school starts on WEDNESDAY 24th APRIL. Looking forward to seeing everyone then - all the best.

Dear Parents/Carers
some of our radiators are down in school today. We have recently taken the temperature within school and it is at an acceptable level to stay open, but would ask that children make sure they have a jumper (and a coat for outside play today). We have contacted a contractor to come in and fix the issue and we will keep you informed of any developments going forward.
kind regards
... Mrs Ireland- Curtis

We've had reports that the phone lines are not working again. I have just tried and calls are getting through. We currently do not have the call filtering system in place and so the phone just rings and will be answered as soon as we can. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

The London bus is due back at 5pm. Year 6 Residential Trip to London 2018/19 - Estimated Return Time
We have just received confirmation from Deputy Headteacher and Trip Lead Miss Clarke that the London group is now on the bus, heading home.
At the present time, it is anticipated that the group will arrive back at school at 5pm. This is, however, traffic-dependent.
... In the event that the return time changes significantly an updated message will be posted on the Home Page of St Mary's website (www.elystmarys.org), and a further communication sent. Otherwise, please assume that the return time will be 5pm, and plan to collect your child at this time.
Thank you.

We are currently experiencing problems with our phone lines which we are sorting out. If you have an urgent message can you email office@elystmarys.cambs.sch.uk. We will check emails regularly during this period of disruption. Many thanks

Young Voices- we are due home at midnight. Please share so we can get the message to everyone. Many thanks and thank you to our parents for being so understanding.

Good morning – despite the children’s wishes and a little bit of snow, we are open! However, the pavements leading to school are very slippery so please take care when coming to school. We will all be coming in through the main entrance today, it is therefore a good idea to give yourself a few extra minutes for your journey. Finally, the temporary traffic lights at the end of High Barns are causing a few tail backs and yesterday the school buses had difficulty in turning into the road. We would kindly request that parents try to find alternative parking for the next few days to facilitate the safety of everyone coming into school. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow. Just a few reminders for the new term, please can you:
send your child in with a named water bottle (we appreciate that these may have got lost over the holidays, but if they can have one in for the end of the week, that would be fabulous), name all uniform (we have a mountain of unnamed uniform in the office, if it is named we can reunite uniform with owners), remember to send only fresh fruit or crackers in as a snack (definitely NO ...NUTS), remind your child/children to bring their PE kits and a coat.
Many thanks
See you all tomorrow!

Trying to find space for all those new toys and games that Father Christmas has delivered? Do you have any toys and games that need a new home? We are looking for items to stock up our wet play boxes and will happily take on any items that are intact and in good condition, with all the pieces. If you have anything you would like to donate then your child can bring them in over the first week back. Many thanks in advance.

Friday - if your child would like to wear a Christmas themed jumper on Friday then please go ahead, but there is no obligation to do so. Usual school uniform apart from jumpers please :-)
