Nice cinema, friendly staff. Usually take my kids to the Saturday morning kids showing which is ÂŁ1.50 a ticket.

Bargain price.

User

Free parking easy to get to didn’t have to queue to get tickets good seat

User

Booked seats ahead because need the leg room, was quick to get the tickets on entry no queues plenty of room especially for the music in Finding your feet! Loved the film so did my pals that I took with me gonna make it a monthly date now good times

User

We always go on a Tuesday when they offer cheaper tickets and the free car park is so convenient. We last went to see Darkest hour and as usual the staff were helpful especially as their ticket machines weren't working. Unfortunately they allowed two drunk patrons in at the very end of the film, when it was at its most tense and dramatic and it completely ruined the experience. They started asking people what their seat numbers were and a couple in front of us had to move to let them into their seats. Serious lack of judgement as they were there for whatever showing was in that screen after our showing. We were offered an apology but for the destruction of our cinematic experience it would have been nice to even be offered a small discount on food or tickets on our next visit.

User

Location is excellent, maybe a little bit tired, but films are still the same, quality & sound wise.

User

I've rated it 4 stars but that's because parking is very convenient and free. We booked at a quiet time. The frontage was not very inviting, quite bare in fact. It almost looked closed. The foyer was dull , dusty and bare. A couple of members of staff were working behind the counter serving drinks and snacks and a couple of others just hurried past us. No eye contact, no welcome smile or good morning. I always prefer using Empire Cinema at Cressex because of its location and not having to go right into town, but I'm sorry to say we were disappointed with our experience. It's almost like youre running it down, which would be a real shame. You need to clean up your act or you will lose business.

I went last night to see Geostorm. We always use the Empire Cinema at Cressex as it’s local and easy to park. Admittedly it needs an update in the foyer and a clean up now and again, but the staff last night were very polite and the queue wasn’t long to wait. Our seating in screen 2 was clean with no rubbish anywhere but noticed loads left behind by the people in there when the film had finished. Why don’t people take their rubbish and put in the bins outside? I was impressed by the security of checking age limits for certain films by a man at the desk, so all in all a very pleasant evening.

User

I love Tuesdays at Empire £4.50 for any seat, it just doesn’t make a five star as I find the parking very stressful, it’s so busy and full and I go round and round and that worries me I will miss the start of the film - there is nowhere else to park nearby so you just have to wait til your luck is in!

User

I have used Empire since it opened, I've lived here all my life. It's conveniently located and car parking is free. The tickets are as expensive as anywhere else as is the food/drink. I have always found staff to be polite on my visits and the ticket machines easy to use. I would say that the place needs sprucing up a bit as it had a bit of an odd smell yesterday when I visited.

User

Been going to the Empire for 7 years now. Would never step foot to an Odeon.

After Empire had installed new ticket machines we can no longer use them to buy 2 for 1 tickets with our Meerkat movies code. Always have to queue at the desk to get them now. It's rather annoying especially when there is a bunch of menopausal ladies choosing RosĂŠ and think that "one bottle is not as filled as others". Please return Meerkat movies to the machines!

Watched Pitch Perfect 3 over the Christmas holidays with my daughters. This was our first trip with Empire and was impressed with the room and seating. Very clean and extremely comfy seats, however one of the seats did have a pin sticking out of the head area. Was totally disgusted with how people leave their rubbish when there are plenty of bins!! I do feel some staff let the company down. Not one member we approached smiled or showed any friendliness. We tried to use the ticket machine to print our tickets .... Lots of machines but none worked and no notice to inform us. Slightly worried we couldn’t get tickets as we clearly heard them trying to print we approached a member of staff who assured us it wouldn’t be a problem. When we tried to explain to the staff member taking tickets our issue they asked the same person we did and we overheard her say ‘I told them what to do’ rather rudely. When we ordered drinks, I asked what the difference was between cherry and dark cherry ice blast and was told ‘I only work here and don’t drink it’. I don’t expect a personal opinion but if your selling a product you should have some understanding of them. Have been to plenty of different cinemas and staff always pop their heads in and make sure all is ok and there aren’t any rowdy groups. Not one member of staff entered that room as we were near the door. Seems such a shame the staff let this company down. Will try again some time to see if it was a one off ..... fingers crossed it was

Took my son to see peter Rabbit film was ok but never seen such unhappy staff in all my life with such long face's when paying to go in it was like they don't want to be there what happened to good old customer service.

User

The front of the building looks like it's closing down! The whole place smells and feels unclean. It's a good location this cinema and easier than going into town. But for the prices you pay the experience is far below an acceptable standard. I bought a bag of Minstrels and every single one in the pack was broken. I really like this cinema but it seems like it's struggling to survive at the moment. I hope it improves. ďż˝

User

Shabby looking outside and in..no lights to show you your seats..on plus side cheap seniors tickets and free parking in a very tatty carpark full of rubbish.

User

I’m very picky, and if you can’t afford to supply coke, Fanta and sprite instead of the poor quality of Pepsi, tango and 7up, you automatically lose a star. Second star is for stale popcorn. But the cinema was comfortable and a nice temperature on a very hot day.

User

Went to watch Bad mums on the 11th Nov, sat and waited 35 minutes after the start time. Left and went to foyer to find out what was going on. No one to ask. Litter everywhere, dirty seats. Movie started without trailer.

Will go to Cineworld in future

User

Saw IT in screen 2 ..Screens are a good size but seats are FAR too narrow because of the cup holders!.. If you are not stick thin you are bruised for about a week after sitting squashed up for a 2 hour film. Prices a little high too for the value that you get. A trip to the cinema is a treat at the best of times but the prices have gone up since June :( .. Ladies Loos were dirty too.. :( .. the sound level in Screen 2 could have been louder.. just sayin. . Is this venue actually closing down?.. Passable.. may have to look around for somewhere else.

User

I took my kids to the 4pm showing of Transformers yesterday in screen 8 and the previous showings rubbish littered the room. I had half an eaten hotdog on my seat, my daughter next to me sat in spilt popcorn and my son also had half eaten hotdog on his seat and all 3 of us has dirty cups in the holders. I wouldn't have minded if it had been busy but the place was empty and we had just walked past 5 members of staff having a good chat in the foyer.

User

I arrived today with my sister and mother ( who is registered disabled) for an 11.45 screening for Finding your Feet.

We chose this cinema as easy to drop off and pick up my mother who cannot walk too far due to her cancer.

We were told we could not see this screening as it was a parent and toddlers screen and we could only enter if we had a toddler!

I asked was the screening full, to be told there were 3 people only in the film and one was a toddler!!

After calling the supervisor Danny and still being refused entry we had to leave.

Honestly I cannot believe the jobsworth attitude and lack of flexibility ! He could see my mother was struggling but had no concern at all.

So empire cinemas you think it’s a good idea when you only have 3 people watching a film including a toddler , to turn 3 adults away???

Shocking ďż˝
