Established to help raise funds to fight the increase in HIV infection rates and to support those living with HIV and AIDS in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape

The Raphael Centre transforms lives by providing:
1. Voluntary counselling and testing - 1, 126 tests carried out in 2011
2. A youth club and away-form-home camp for 60 vulnerable teenagers
3. Early Childhood Development for 120 young children to attend pre-primary schools
4. Prevention of Mother to Child transmission from before birth to 18 months after birth
5. Prevention education was delivered to 7, 348 individuals in 2011 at local clinics, schools, homes and work places
6. Support courses for men and women living with HIV and AIDS
The Grahamstown community has a population of 120 000 of which 80% are unemployed and 11% are HIV positive.
