About Enabled Works
Enabled Works Ltd is a not for profit co-operative that empowers the ability in disability by hiring disabled workers for packing and distribution.
Enabled Works Description
Enabled Works is not for profit co-operative working as a social enterprise with a vision to promote and develop people with disabilities, helping them to achieve maximum personal success. We directly support disabled workers in finding and maintaining sustainable employment, and we are run and owned by our own disabled workforce.
We offer a supported workshop enterprise to provide employment, rehabilitation and potential placement opportunities for disabled people. Our main focuses are contract packing, electro /mechanical assembly, fulfilment, mailing and recycling.
At Enabled Works, we provide a learning centre for use by employees, trainees and local organisations to deliver on the job training and possible employment through our in-house packaging and production unit. This enables and equips our employees with the life skills and necessary experience for successful long term progression into suitable employment.
In addition to this, we offer a range of computer-based learning opportunities through our partnership with Fleetmasters Operational Support Services Ltd, including the internationally recognised European Computer Driving license. We give those with disabilities and mobility issues easier access to a range of training, personal development and employability courses to build their confidence and inspire them.
As a not for profit social enterprise, our income is directly invested back into Enabled Works to allow us to help and progress as many individuals as possible.
While all of our employees are disabled people, we welcome able-bodied and disabled volunteers into our unit, giving young people in the local community an opportunity to learn valuable skills and enhance their job prospects in future.

its hard enough to live when people are topped up with tax credits, the living wage increase imposed employers to pay more so the tax system pays less but small firms like us struggle to find the money if tax credits are to be cut, give the money saved to the small businesses so that employees are not worse off!!
Help disabled people be treated fairly.

It's all a sham to pretend that disabled people called for an end to remploy. We were not segregated or confined. We chose to work in remploy factories until government took away the choice. :( it was a dark day for disabled people when government took away the support.
We always knew they weren't. Same as they weren't responsible for the closure of remploy factories. Michael portillo started that I'm 1994 by changing competition rules and made remploy have to bid for all contracts regardless of how unfair that was :-( and the condems finished the job by pretending they were 'selling' the factories and businesses!
