Had a meal with my daughter before we went to see War Horse. Courteous, polite staff. Meal arrived promptly and was nice and hot. Couldn't fault it apart from menu could be a bit more varied but for a fast food type pub it was fine.

Great vibes day in day out. Fantastic staff and the food is superb. I ordered the sausage and mash and it came out so well presented piping hot and very tasty. The staff were also very pleasant to speak to. Will defo be coming back here.

We had a lovely meal here on 1 March. Not enough staff serving tho, even when Most people were there eating before a matinee show at the Mayflower. When we were served the staff were very polite, our meal came out as we ordered, I did ask for gravy for my pie, but didnt like gravy and chips, so I had a little jug of gravy on my plate, was perfect. Always eat here when going to the theatre.

Very nice salad and a chilli before the theatre. Prosecco only £3:95 a glass. Lovely

Mum and I had Scampi & chips and Southern Fried Chicken burger & fries and we were very pleasantly surprised, it was great. The only complaint is that the two staff members were run off their feet having to take orders, make drinks and clear tables.

Had a lovely meal before going to a show in The Mayflower. Then went back in for a drink afterwards. There was only two barmen when we went back and there was a wait for a drink because everyone had the same idea. The staff were very hard working. Maybe could have done with more staff.

Great restaurant next to the theatre. Food was tasty and we didn't have to wait too long for it to come to the table. Affordable prices.

2nd time eating here before going to the Mayflower Theatre. I had cod my cousin had scampi and we both cleared our plates food was very good washed down with a lovely �

Did hear that The Encore is closing down really hope not very handy for the theatre and food very reasonably priced and staff polite. �

When you go and see a show they never got another staff on and 3 times you ask for good they always run out of what you want which it not the first time but knowing there a show on and you know you are going to be busy you would make sure

My friend and I had a meal before going to a show, the pub was packed we did find the last table and had quite a wait for food to be ready, our food was okay my steak was very chewy. I would go again there to eat

I didn't mind waiting for the food, staff informed of wait time, but I didn't appreciate cold chips on each plate, and my son's uncooked burger. Manager was very helpful, refunded our money and brought fresh chips. Would return for drinks - staff friendly, but not to eat.

Asked the young lad outside sweeping the stairs as to what time the doors open to be told they open at 12.00 o'clock this was about 11.15 at 11.30 the doors opened so I popped my head around the door to ask if they were open, only to be told " the doors are open ain't they" which I thought was rather rude.

My daughter and I ordered some food only to have cold skinny fries and our burgers were burnt around the edges. Would I go back to this pub for drinks maybe for food definitely not

We popped in for lunch before going to the theatre, thinking we had plenty of time. How wrong were we? We were very nearly late for the start of the show. After a 45 minute wait the food arrived, cold. We also heard other people complaining of long wait times for food, looking at the reviews this seems to be a common theme. We will not be returning and definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

We had a meal before the show last night. The three meals ordered were overcooked and the chips smelt of oil that needed changing. Will not be returning.

Sent food back twice as asked for NO peas...came with peas first time then mushy peas !!!! Lasagne not cooked nd chips cold by the time got food scampi overcooked. Felt sorry for bar staff as doing food nd drinks. For a place near theatre need to up ideas

My friend and me went to order food and were told they were not serving anymore food.

No explanation and no apology. Then I see the other bar staff taking an order which I then said to the young girl serving me why is he serving food and your not. She asked him and he said they were only doing side orders ( chips or onion rings ). Very poor service and will not be going their again as it ruined our evening out.

I have been there before and they do get busy before a show in the Mayflower, but yesterday I popped in during the interval of a show, had a drink and was waiting to order another and had to wait. The were not busy and was offended by the cheek of one of the bar staff telling me "waving my wallet won't get me served any quicker" and decided not to serve me. At that point there was only one other person at the bar. Not very professional.

I am sorry bit you would think being next to the Mayflower they would have more staff to cope with the crowds from the matinee and the evening waited 20 mins to get a drink 3 staff on and one of them was doing food serving as well then 40 mins for food that wasn't that great people were sending stuff back because it was cold etc terrible won't be going back there again !!!!
