It’s critical to wear your retainers as instructed because the bone around your teeth are hardening to the new position and can move easily without retainers. Shift happens if you don’t wear your retainers at night for life🦷

What you eat can impact the formation of white spots on your teeth. Here are some helpful diet tips to reduce the likelihood of white spots with braces: * Eat foods lower in sugar (to reduce the amount of fuel for acid-forming bacteria) * Drink water instead of fizzy drinks or fruit juice * Eat full meals instead of snacks #healthydietwithbraces 👍#brush3timesaday👍

What Colors of Braces Should You Choose or Avoid? * Dark blue, turquoise, orange, green, violet or pink may look super if you have a darker skin tone. * Lighter blue, bronze, darker purples or blues and subdued tones of red or pink might complement a lighter skin tone. * Darker colors may make your teeth appear whiter😀

Retainers are fitted at the end of orthodontic treatment after the braces are removed. They can be either removable or fixed onto the teeth. There are different types of retainers. The choice of retainer is affected by a number of different factors and your orthodontist will explain which retainer is best for you😁

When you first have braces you may have a small sore or two on your lips or gums for the first couple days as your mouth gets used to the wires and brackets. A warm saltwater rinse can help alleviate the discomfort and your orthodontist can give you wax to apply to keep your mouth from getting irritated😃.

When you have braces fitted after a few days to a week, any initial discomfort associated with the braces should be gone or much improved. The teeth will have gradually acclimated to the braces, and eating should be much easier😃
