About Enhanced Optical Services
Optician John Snelgrove FBDO has opened at 209 Hatfield road on 1st September 2015. We also have been providing a home visit service since 1993.

Providing the best possible optical care plan is something that will not only achieve this, but will also set you apart from the competition and add value to your care home packages.
Your Local Optician Since 1993
As a Registered Dispensing Optician with the General Optical Council, myself and my team have been providing visiting optical services for older people in Herts, Bucks and North London for 20 years.
As an NHS contractor for providing Mobile Sight Tests, we provide a personalised and caring service. We don’t use any unqualified assistants and your residents will always see the same optician – making them feel more comfortable and building a trusting relationship.
We also form part of your multi-discipline team for your residents, and help you meet the Mental Capacity Act and the Disability Discrimination Act requirements.

We manage an individual and detailed optical care plan for each of your residents.
In maintaining this optical care plan which your staff can access, not only does it help your team understand each resident’s vision to increase quality of care, it also lets us take the strain of optical care management from you – giving you more time to focus on other priorities.
New Free Designer Frames
We offer free frames for everyone, both with the NHS voucher and with private lenses. All spectacles are labelled with the client’s name, as well as the date, function and level of vision. They are delivered and professionally fitted by an optician.

In my opinion it’s like not wearing varifocals

New ESSILOR bespoke eye code Visio office coming to my Opticians this month . It will be the only one in St ALBANS and possibly HERTFORDSHIRE. Offering the best method of measuring varifocals designed for you . It takes into account the rotation of your eye within the head to calculate the optimum focal plan , meaning you do do not have to look for the sweet spot . Very wide field of view and it’s like not wearing varifocals .

She was amazed at the exemplary service, the wonderful eye test she experienced and the brilliant, unusual, and yet high quality range of glasses. Great service and really pleased with my two new pairs of glasses, one main pair with free transition lenses and a lovely spare pair. A really wide choice of frames available which I 'forensically examined!' before choosing. Was pleased to be able to have the free sight test and OCT scan which maps your eyes and forms a reference point for any changes.

Their latest is the 3D Macula report which you get detailed measurements and take home your pictures. This means you have true measurements of eye health over a period of years rather than approximations. Friendly and happy to take the time to explain things, what is not to like?
Amazing glasses and outstanding customer care. Child friendly and very happy child with his glasses. Highly recommend. Something that was such a chore to do has now become a pleasure to do. Highly recommend as we were listened too and got exactly what we wanted if not more
